Precious Pooches
MSFR to the rescue and I’m so very grateful
to them! It was a pretty lengthy process of
isolation and treatments at their veterinarian
for several weeks. Now that I’ve had my last
treatment, I’m ready to find my forever home.
It’s amazing what TLC and medication can
do! I don’t even come close to resembling the
bald, patchy-haired guy that was rescued. Now
everyone can see that I’m quite good-looking
with my natural ears, my natural tail and the
great ‘schnauzery’ handsomeness. In addition
to my adorable appearance, I am extremely
sweet and eager to please -- but need some
training, as I had never seen a leash until I was
rescued. I’m 15 pounds of love and affection
and would be a great addition to your family.”

I’m Dobbs, and I believe you’ve already
met my brother Davis. Our previous owners
dumped us at an LA area shelter and there
is no doubt it’s because we had sarcoptic
mange and they didn’t want to treat it. It’s the

org. Schnauzers! Bet you can’t adopt just one.
“Hi there, my name is Davis! My brother
Dobbs and I were dumped at an LA area shelter
by our previous owners and we’re guessing
it’s because we had sarcoptic mange and they
didn’t want to deal with it. Why else would
someone turn in a 1-year old, male Miniature
Schnauzer mix? Treating sarcoptic mange is no
easy task and the shelter made it perfectly clear
that I had to exit the place immediately since
this condition is highly contagious. Ta-da…
only reason I can think of that would cause
someone turn in a 1-year-old, 15-pound, sweet
little male Miniature Schnauzer mix. Treating
sarcoptic mange is very time-consuming and
the shelter made it perfectly clear that because
this condition is highly contagious, I was not
welcome there. Thankfully, it was MSFR to
the rescue and I’m so glad they took me in.
Treatment required a several-week stay at the
veterinarian’s so that I could remain isolated
while getting Ivermectin treatments. I have
had my last treatment and I’m ready to look
for a family that will want me and all the
love I have to give. Honestly, if you were to
see me now, you’d never believe I was the
patch- haired, semi-bald dog that was rescued.
Even though I’m a mix, I have inherited all
of the ‘schnauzery’ good looks – especially
with my natural ears and natural tail. Since
I’m not very big, I am easily transportable and
ready to go anywhere. Well, I do need a bit
of training because I didn’t even know what
a leash was until I was rescued. I am really
sweet and eager to please, so training should
be a great bonding time for us.”
If you’re interested in Davis, please email
info@msfr.org for more information.
“How would you like to be abandoned by
your family after loving them and being a loyal
companion for 10 years? Well, I certainly was
devastated when it happened to me. My name
is Sushi and I was rescued from an Inland
Empire shelter after my family told the shelter
they were moving and couldn’t take me with
them -- so they just dumped me. The shelter
folks felt so badly for me that they gave me
a dental, a blood work-up and then contacted
MSFR to ask them if they could rescue me
because they were doubtful they could find a
home for me. A trip to the MSFR veterinarian,
who took x-rays, quickly revealed that I have
an enlarged heart and a grade 4 heart murmur.
I had an appointment with a cardiologist, who
confirmed that medication would definitely
help my heart murmur and so I’m now on
the inexpensive kind and feeling fine. I’m
also planning on dropping a couple of pounds
because at my current weight of 24 pounds,
I’m a tad overweight. Luckily, I still get along
and love to play with other dogs and I have
a great temperament. You’d be hard-pressed
to find a sweeter and more affectionate dog
anywhere. Add my stunning good looks with
my black and silver coat and I would be the
perfect dog for you.”
