Hola, they call me Fuego, a 3 year old
DSH male. I think it is because of my fiery
colored coat. I am looking for an amigo por
toda la vida, could it be you? Let’s begin
a beautiful friendship! https://spcala.com/

My tail is always wagging because I’m
so happy! I’m Izzy, a beautiful and sweet
6 year old pit bull mix girl who loves to
be pet and spend time with my human
companions. The staff here say I am very
smart. I would do best in a home without
other dogs. https://spcala.com/adoptable/

Happy Tails
Ken came to the spcaLA on March 9th
on suspicion of being hit by a car. He had
to have his lungs drained of fluid and was
in immense pain. He was also absolutely
terrified of human contact and of the leash.
While the veterinary staff got to work helping
his body heal, the Behavior and Training
team started the long journey of repairing his
relationship with people. It took ten days for
Ken to approach people within the confines
of his kennel run. It was another month
before he tolerated being touched. Surprise!
He discovered he liked neck scratches! Two
weeks later and he was allowing multiple
staff members to pet him. A week after that,
almost two months to the day of entering the
shelter, Ken allowed himself to be leashed.
Hi, my name is Autumn. I am a pretty
5 year old DSH female kitty with a
sweet disposition. I like to hangout in
the cattery with my feline friends while
I wait for my Friend for Life. I hope to
find a warm home with lots of pets to
lean into. https://spcala.com/adoptable/

Angel is a 5 year old male Cockapoo
who is looking for his forever home. His
favorite treats are hotdogs and he is a bit
of a lap dog. Are you looking for a friend
who won’t judge you binge watching Bravo?
Look no further than Angel! https://spcala.

Angel Autumn
Izzy
Three weeks later, his fear of the leash was
minimal and he was approaching various staff
members for treats. Ken was finally ready
to move on. Forte Animal Rescue came for
a meet and greet with Ken that went above
and beyond expectations. Ken was able to
approach a total stranger, take treats from
her, and seemed very comfortable with being
pet. The foster picked him up the next day
and reports he is already settling into home
life and actually LOVES cuddling in her lap.
Ken spent a total of 83 days at spcaLA South
Bay Pet Adoption Center. While his journey
to a forever home isn’t over yet, we are so
proud of his progress and that we were able
to give him the care he needed during his
time with us. •
Congratulations to Ken on his new journey.
