Two El Segundo Little League (ESLL) allstar
teams fell in the Little League Section 4
tournament and their season has come to an end,
albeit with some controversy and drama. The
13-year-old Babe Ruth All-Stars are enjoying
their trip to the Pacific Southwest Regional in
Price, Utah and the American Legion team’s
season ended with two losses in the Pacific
League tournament. Two EL Segundo softball
all-star teams are competing at Western National
Tournaments.
ESLL 11s Fall
El Segundo faced West L.A. Little League
in the first round of the Section 4 All-Star
Tournament. ESLL’s touted offense was kept in
check with just four hits and fell 4-0. Joaquin
Wagner-Bagues, Lincoln Quaintance, Jaiden
Rico and Andre Sugden each had hits while
Townes Potter took the loss.
El Segundo bounced back against Westchester
LL in a big way with an 11-0 win. Wagner-
Bagues and Sugden combined on a three-hitter
while striking out six. The offense came alive
with a seven-run fourth inning highlighted by
Spencer Osborne, Quaintance, Sugden and
Potter each driving in runs. Shaun Conley,
Jamie Owen and Osborne led the offense with
two hits each.
In the elimination final, El Segundo couldn’t
hold off West L.A. LL and lost 11-7. ESLL
