Purrrfect Companions
“My husband said it was him or the cat. I
miss him sometimes.” Zsa Zsa Gabor. Fill
that void in your life with an adoring feline
companion.
Caramel and Toffee were rescued as neonate
bottle babies from the city shelter system.
Caramel is a silly kitten, always exploring
and romping around playing. He loves his
brother and gets along well with other cats
once he gets to know them. He loves to play
with anyone who will give him some attention.
Caramel will sleep on the bed and cuddle on
the couch, never too far away from wherever
you are. His brother Toffee loves to cuddle
right up to your face, purring like a motor.
Sometimes he likes to reach up and just touch
your face and is always sprawling on your
lap every chance he can get. He is super food
motivated, interested in what you are eating.
Caramel and Toffee would love to be adopted
to together. If adopted separately, they each
need another kitty in their life to play with.
These brothers are great with all humans of
any age and would be the perfect addition
to any family! They are also ok with small,
older dogs and would adjust to calm dogs.
Jess is a little shy and very sweet. She is
one of the softest shorthaired cats ever (Think
of the softest blanket, that’s her). Jess enjoys
being scratched when she’s eating and snuggling
when you’re laying down. She will
happily entertain you as she plays with her
string toys and playing in tunnels.
Elric and his siblings were rescued from
the shelter as bottle babies. He is the smallest
of his litter and is petite cat compared to his
brothers. Elric loves to snuggle, rolling around
on your feet and rubbing against your legs.
He’s curious and wants to be wherever you
are. Talkative when he wants something, Elric
is not afraid to voice his thoughts and feelings.
When not romping around his siblings, Elric
loves to cuddle and adores people! He gets
along well with other cats and would do best
with a feline buddy in his home.
Hunter is very friendly and loves playtime.
He runs to greet you at the door (sometimes
curious about what’s outside) and is curious
about everything you’re doing. He is extremely
sweet and playful and loves wrestling with
his siblings. Just like his sister, Hunter loves

water and will meow for you to turn the sink
on. He would be a great addition to any
home. He and his little sister Tarot are very
bonded and always pair up together. It would
be wonderful if they could stay together in
their new home
Hunter’s sister Tarot has blossomed into a
beautiful girl, and while she’s still small, she’s
very fierce. Her feisty personality mixed with
her brother Hunter’s funny attitude makes a
great combination. She takes playtime very
seriously and can hold her own in wrestling
matches. Tarot is very curious and very friendly
but wants to meet you on her own terms. Once
she’s settled, Tarot will be playing all the
time and cuddling next to you. The funniest
part about her and her brothers, is their love
of water; they will hop in the shower or the
sink when it’s on just to play in it.

Happy Tails
Over the Christmas break, Kitten Rescue
had a very special adoption of an amazing
little kitty named Thelonious. Kitten Rescue
saved him and his brother from the East Valley
shelter when they were just five days old.
They were quite sick, and sadly, his brother
didn’t survive. Thanks to the intensive care
and love he received at the Kitten Rescue
Nursery, Thelonious recovered. He was all by
himself and could not be integrated with other
kitties until he was tested for feline leukemia.
Before he reached testing age, Thelonious
went to a foster home with three dogs, so he
could have other animals to socialize with,
without the risk of transmitting disease. As
a result, he became extremely dog friendly.
When the time came for adoption, his foster
parents really wanted him to go to a home
with dogs.
Fast forward to the middle of December.
Prior Kitten Rescue adopters, Lesley and Norm,
had been without a cat for nearly two years
and were thinking of adopting again. This was
the perfect home for Thelonious! A meeting
sealed the deal, and just before Christmas,
Thelonious went to live with Lesley, Norm,
and their three dogs, Reese, Bacon and Oreo.
Reese, a young pit bull adopted from the
wonderful people at Angel City Pit Bulls,
was besides herself with joy when she saw
that she had a new kitten brother. The two
of them immediately became thick as thieves.
This pittie and kitty match was meant to be!
Both baby kittens and pit bulls face very
dire prospects when they end up in public
shelters. Reese and Thelonious are lucky to
have gotten out and have a chance to share
a loving home, but all over the country there
are thousands upon thousands with uncertain
futures. Please always adopt, always support
your local rescues, and always do what you
can to help the most vulnerable among us.
You just might be able to make something
magical happen.
When you adopt a “pet without a partner”,
you will forever make a difference in their
life and they are sure to make a difference
in yours. •
Thelonious tells Reese a secret. Congratulations to Thelonious and his new family.
