On Saturday, April 28 the 2018 Lawndale
“Pirate Days” Youth Day Parade took place
with approximately 1,300 youth, teen and
adult participants traveling down Lawndale’s
major streets and boulevards. Approximately
15 classic cars from the Classic Cruiser Car
Club opened up the parade and entertained
spectators along the 2.2-mile parade route,
with another two dozen vehicles consisting of
elected officials, floats and decorated entries.
The parade Grand Marshall featured the
Lawndale High School Varsity Football Team
with many players riding along in a 24-foot-long
flatbed truck. The event concluded with an awards
presentation to 11 entries. The top photo is of
the Jane Addams Middle School Cheer Team. •
