Another Successful Concert in the Park

country music from the Kelly Rae Band,
glitter tattoo art and face painting, crafts and

Updated Freeway Lane Closures
The California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) announced that the contractor has
postponed two scheduled 55-hour closures of
the connector ramp from northbound Interstate
405 (San Diego Freeway) to eastbound
Interstate 105 (Century – Glenn Anderson
Freeway) and of freeway lanes on eastbound
I-105 at I-405 to pave and stripe lanes on
I-105. The following closures were canceled
and rescheduled:
• From 10 p.m. Thursday, July 26 until 5 a.m.
Fri., July 27
• From 10 p.m. Fri., July 27 until 5 a.m.
Mon., July 30 (55 consecutive hours) and
repeating again.
• From 10 p.m. Fri., Aug. 3 until 5 a.m.
Mon., Aug. 6 (55 consecutive hours):
• Closure of the northbound I-405 connector
ramp to eastbound I-105.
• Lane reduction on eastbound I-105 on
both sides of the I-405 interchange.
The July 26 night closure will be
rescheduled for the night of Thursday,
August 2. The two 55-hour closures will be
rescheduled for the weekends of August 3
and August 10.

Carlota Marie (Noto) Guy
Carlota Marie (Noto) Guy,
92, was born in Oneida, NY on
September 17, 1925. Carlota died
peacefully on July 27. Carlota
married Ross Guy, May 2, 1946.
Her husband Ross preceded her
in death in 1987.
Carlota was a loving mother
and homemaker to her large family.
She also believed strongly
in volunteering to help others.
Carlota was a long time member
of the ES PTA. Serving years after all her
children graduated. She also belonged to the
ES Woman’s Club, the Moose Lodge, Senior
Citizen’s Club, Vanguards, ROAD and her
home parish of St. Michaels. Carlota served
as president of each of these organizations.
Carlota was honored as Senior Citizen of the
Year in 1997 and served as District President
of the Woman’s Club.
Carlota leaves five children,
Florine Guy, Melissa (Randy)
Albers, Paul (Dorrie) Guy, Adam
(Laura) Guy and Valerie (Jack)
Hardy. Her eldest son Ross
(Shayne) Guy preceded her in
death. She also leaves fourteen
grandchildren and ten great
grandchildren. Carlota will be
remembered for her quick smile
and infectious laugh. She loved
and was loved by many and we
miss her already. We know she is enjoying
the waltz in dad’s arms.
The service will be Tuesday, August 7,
11:00 AM, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church,
361 Richmond St., El Segundo. Reception
following the service will be held at the ES
Woman’s Club. In lieu of flowers, Carlota
asked for donations to CASE, 591 E. Palm
Ave. El Segundo, CA 90245. •
