Precious Pooches
Beth Mason
“Hi there! My name is Snickers and, if I
were to guess, I would say I was named that
because of my brown and brindle coloring.
When I was found wandering the streets, my
owner was contacted but never returned the
calls or even tried to find me. I’m a 6-yearold,
28-pound male Terrier mix who would
rather be a couch potato than play with toys.
However, I do enjoy a good walk in the mornings
and evenings. I’m a pretty social guy
who gets along well with other dogs, cats and
especially people. The lady who cares for me
thinks I’m pretty smart because I am easily
adjusting to crate-training and housebreaking.
Not quite there, but I’m working on it!

We are looking for volunteers to help with
our pet adoption fairs which are held every

volunteering and can commit to at least one
Saturday a month, please contact us at info@
msfr.org. You can also visit all of our Miniature
Schnauzers & Friends rescues at the adoption
fair or check out our website, www.msfr.org. If
you have any questions about a particular dog’s
availability, you can email us at info@msfr.
org. Schnauzers! Bet you can’t adopt just one.
“If you think that an adorable, 1-year-old,
female Miniature Schnauzer mix would be the
perfect addition to your family, look no more.
My name is Beth and I was rescued from an
LA area shelter where I ended up as a stray
when I became lost while out for an adventure.
It was shortly after the 4th of July and the
shelter was extremely overcrowded, but the
fact that no one inquired about adopting me
was quite a surprise. I know that I need a bit
of work on ‘Housebreaking 101,’ but I’m very
smart and eager to please -- so that won’t take
long. I’m not very big (only 10 pounds), so I’m
easily transportable and would love to be your
companion. I get along great with other dogs
and I’ve been told that I’m cute as a button
and as sweet as can be. I love to play and I
know we would have so much fun together.”
If you’re interested in Beth, please email
info@msfr.org for more information.
Since I am not the least bit destructive, I’ll
be fine with total access to the house once
I’m completely housebroken. To top it off,
I’m a great watchdog – I bark at strangers
when they come to the door – so I’ll be able
to keep you safe.”

“My name is Mason and I guess you could
say I’m a work in progress. I was adopted from
an LA County shelter a few months ago, but
proved to be too energetic for my elderly pug
sibling. Guess who is looking for a new home?
Okay, so I have a little separation anxiety – I
whine when left alone - and I’m a bit of a
picky eater, but what do you expect? I’m only
6-months old… I would do perfectly fine in a
home with another doggie pal or with someone
who works from home, or even at stay-at-home
parent. As a Terrier mix pup, I love to run and
‘zoomies’ are my favorite trick, so a family
that is active and has a yard would be my idea
of heaven. I’m not food-aggressive, I behave
nicely at the groomer’s and am a rock star at
doggie daycare. I’m leash-trained – with just
an occasional pull – and crate-trained. Not too
bad for a 15-pound youngster with lots to learn,
lots of love to give and who is eager to please.”

Happy Tails
Congratulations to Blanca and her new family!
Congratulations to Blanca and her new
mom! After recently losing two of her
Schnauzers/Schnauzer mixes due to old age
(the second being recently), she was on a
mission for a lively companion. After discussions
regarding her living arrangement, she
decided that a wilder pup was probably not a
good match. Then she spotted Blanca -- who
is a nice, calm, well-mannered, mature lady
-- and decided that she was the gal for her!
Since Mom is retired, that’s icing on the cake
for Blanca, now named Ash, who is happily
residing in Seal Beach. Our follow-up report
is that Mom couldn’t be happier and thinks
Ash is absolutely perfect! Wishing them lots
of happiness and years of companionship.
If you see a dog with a YELLOW RIBBON
or something yellow on the leash, this is a
dog who needs some space. Please do
not approach this dog with your dog. Please
maintain distance or give this dog and his/her
person time to move out of your way.
There are many reasons why
a dog may need space:
HEALTH ISSUES
IN TRAINING
BEING REHABILITATED
SCARED OR REACTIVE AROUND OTHER DOGS
Those of us who own these dogs
appreciate your help and respect!
