One female adult was arrested at 1145
hours from the 1800 block of East Sycamore
Avenue for plain drunk in public.
A petty theft report was taken at 1305 hours
from the 800 block of South Pacific Coast
Highway. The suspect entered the store and
store and stole merchandise.
A grand theft report was taken at 1350
hours from the 500 block of West Imperial
Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) stole the
catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle.
A burglary (vehicle) report was taken at
1409 hours from the 700 block of West Imperial
Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) entered
the victim’s vehicle and stole his property.
One male adult was arrested at 1552 hours
from West Sycamore and Dune Street for
driving a stolen vehicle.
A tempering with a vehicle report was
taken at 1648 hours from the 700 block
of Lairport Street. Unknown suspect(s) attempted
to steal a catalytic converter from

Tuesday, July 21st
A grand theft (vehicle) report was taken at
0841 hours from the 700 block of West Imperial
Avenue. Taken was a catalytic converter.
A child custody court order violation report
was taken at 0907 hours from the 300 block
of Main Street.
A found property report was taken at 1030
hours from the 400 block of Sheldon Street.
Found was a cell phone.
One male adult was arrested at 1345 hours
from the 6200 block of West Imperial Highway
for identity theft, reckless driving and
misappropriation of lost property
A burglary (residential) report was taken at
1341 hours from the 700 block of Imperial
Avenue. Taken were two bicycles from an
attached garage.
One male adult was detained at 2230 hours
from the 1300 block of East Imperial Avenue
and transported to Marina Del Rey Hospital
for a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation.
One female adult was arrested at 0029 hours
from the 500 block of Standard Street for
forgery and driving on a suspended license.
A robbery (strong arm) report was taken
at 0116 hours from the 2100 block of East
Rosecrans Avenue. The suspect snatched the
victim’s purse from her by force.
One female adult was arrested at 0454
hours from California Street and Oak Avenue
for identity theft, resisting arrest and driving
without a license
An online identity theft report was taken at
0520 hours from the 800 block of Hillcrest
Street. Unknown suspect(s) made a fraudulent
online purchase in the victim’s name.
Wednesday, July 22nd
A grand theft report was taken at 0644
hours from Hornet Way and East Imperial
Highway. Unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s
generator.
A grand theft report was taken at 1037
hours from the 200 block of Concord Street.
Taken was a bicycle.
A petty theft report was taken at 1103
hours from the 600 block of North Pacific
Coast Highway. Taken was a purse.
One male adult was arrested at 1329 hours
from the 1400 block of East Imperial Avenue
for identity theft.
A found property report was taken at 1412
hours from Washington Street and East Grand
Avenue. Found was a purse.
A found property report was taken at
1412 hours from the 100 block of East Oak
Avenue. Found was a drone.
A petty theft report was taken at 1842
hours from the 700 block of South Pacific
Coast Highway. An unknown suspect(s)
stole the victim’s purse from her vehicle and
used her credit card to make a fraudulent
purchase.
An assault with a deadly weapon report
was taken at 0115 hours from the 2100 block
of East Maple Avenue. A known suspect
assaulted the victim.
One male adult and one female adult
were arrested at 0358 hours from the 1100
block of East
Imperial Avenue for suspicion of burglary,
conspiracy, receiving stolen property, possession
of a controlled substance and possession
of drug paraphernalia.
Thursday, July 23rd
A vandalism report was taken at 0904
hours from the 300 block of West El Segundo
Boulevard. Unknown suspect(s) sprayed
graffiti on a wall.
One male adult was arrested at 0937
hours from the 2100 block of East Maple
avenue for vehicle theft and possession of
marijuana for sale.
One male adult was arrested at 0937 hours

A burglary report was taken at 1128 hours
from the 2200 block of East Park Place.
Taken were frozen foods and juices from a
construction site office trailer.

Boulevard. Unknown suspect(s) stole the
victim’s catalytic converter from her vehicle

Coast Highway. A purse was taken from a
public restroom
One female adult was detained at 1502
hours from the 600 block of Illinois Court
and transported to Exodus Harbor for a
psychiatric evaluation.
Friday, July 24th
A child custody court order violation report
was taken at 0913 hours from the 300 block
of Main Street.
One female adult was detained at 0955
hours from the 700 block of South Pacific
Coast Highway and transported to Exodus
Harbor for a psychiatric evaluation.

Obituaries
Jake Charsha
Jake our beloved Chihuahua
passed away peacefully in his
home Wednesday morning with
Beverly and Keith by his side.
His big smile will be missed
by all. He will be greatly
missed by his friends in the dog
park community. •

Edward W. Buckingham
9-16-62 to 7-4-20
On July 4th, Eddie passed
away in his sleep after an almost
five year battle with ALS. He
was predeceased by his father,
Robert. He leaves behind his
partner Laurie, who lovingly
cared for him, his mother Joann,
his brother Bob (Jeanne) and 13
nieces and nephews, his Aunt
Mimi and Uncle Larry, his
cousin Lori (James), and furry
friend Douglas Furbanks. He
graduated from ESHS in 1980,
El Camino College, UCLA,
and San José State University.
He worked in the tech industry
for 20 years, was in the Peace
Corp for five years, and was a
volunteer with Habitat for Humanity
and like organizations
in this and other countries. He
loved to travel and meet people.
A life too short, and he made it
an adventure!
Theresa Altenes
Theresa “Teri” Marie Altenes
(Grandma Teri), 68, of El Segundo,
California passed away
July 21, 2020 from natural
causes at USC Keck Hospital.
She was born to parents Tom
and Georgette Pelliccino, February
19, 1952 in Santa Monica,
California. Teri graduated from
Saint Bernard High School in
1966. She went on to her career at
Raytheon where she met her late
beloved husband, John Altenes. They married
on March 24,1990. Teri is survived by her
sister Patricia Autry of Colorado, her son
John Laster, daughter Carlee Laster, dearest
grandchildren Julianna and James Fraelich
of El Segundo, California and step daughter
Marcy Altenes of Los Angeles, California.
Teri, was the grandma of the South Bay, the
biggest cheerleader for everyone
she cared for and always going
out of her way to make others
happy. When she wasn’t with her
grand children she loved traveling
and being out doors. She had a
heart of gold, an infectious laugh
and a heart she wore on her
sleeve. A funeral for family and
a memorial service for all loved
ones is being planned. Please
