ESUSD SEEKS PARTICIPANTS FOR THE
FACILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The El Segundo Unified School District seeks community members to participate for
the Facility Advisory Committee. We are seeking up to eight community members
for the committee to provide recommendations and input on facility issues including the
prioritization of projects, project / construction bids, and project funding decisions. Ideal
candidates will bring experience and expertise in an area relating to facilities such as
construction, architecture, trade-work, and project budgets. Interested community members
should submit a letter of interest and resume to Dr. Dylan Farris no later than Friday,
August 3rd. Interviews of candidates are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, August 8th.

July 26 Power Outage Update
at Sheldon and Palm
As part of Southern California Edison’s (SCE)
maintenance on electrical systems, power will
be temporarily turned off on Thursday, July 26
between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the west side of
Sheldon Street one block north and south of
Palm Avenue. This will affect 26 residential
customers and one commercial customer. This
El Segundo Rotary presents Movie in the
Park - Mary Poppins on Saturday, Aug. 4
at Chevron Park. Gates open at 4 p.m. and
the movie will begin at dusk. Sweep your
chimney, put a spoonful of sugar in your
tea and buy your tickets now! Fun for the
whole family.
Tickets are $5 each (kids 2 and under and
dancing penguins are free). Tickets can be
purchased in advanced from any of the 60
El Segundo Rotarians, or at many community
businesses including Industrial Lock & Security,
Big 5, and the Chamber of Commerce. Offerings
will included tacos, pizza, hamburgers, hot
dogs, popcorn, candy, beer and wine, bounce
houses, train rides, face painting and more.
Free parking is available at the structure
located at El Segundo Boulevard and Illinois
Street. Arriving via flying umbrella is
discouraged for safety reasons.
Proceeds will not only help the Rotary
Club of El Segundo fund the event, but will
also contribute to many projects that support
youth and the community of El Segundo as
well as reach beyond our borders to assist
developing nations.
Rotary is a global philanthropic organization
focused on promoting peace, fighting disease,
providing clean water, saving mothers &
children, supporting education, and growing
local economies.
