The El Segundo high school girls’ soccer
team finished in third place in the Pioneer
League then went on to win the 2021 CIF
Southern Section Division 4 championship.
The Eagles went on the road and defeated
top-seeded San Dimas 2-1 in the finals. After
finishing second in the Pioneer League this
season, the Eagles went on the road to face
top-seeded West Torrance in the CIF-SS
Division 3 finals. They came away with an
emotionally charged and physically draining
2-0 win over the top-seeded Warriors.
The Eagles defeated Yucaipa in the first
overtime period 2-1 on Bella Munoz’s goal
to get to the finals. The Eagles scored a
first-half goal against Murrieta Mesa in the
second round and hung on for a 1-0 victory.
The Eagles advanced to the semi-finals with
their 3-0 win over second-seeded Flintridge
Prep. Michaela Turner scored within the
game’s first minute, and Chelsie Charles
and Bella Munoz added second-half goals
to propel the Eagles.
In the semi-finals, El Segundo faced
third-seeded Sonora at home. In a seesaw
back and forth match, the Eagles defeated
the Raiders 3-2. The Eagles had numerous
looks at the goal but found their first scoring
opportunity after a free-kick. At 25:03 of the
first half, Chelsie Charles found a pass after

The Bubble Gum Girls led the ESGS portion of the parade.
The Dodgers Challenger Division leads the sixty-eighth El Segundo Little League Parade down a fully lined Main Street.
The Rookie Division Tigers took time out during the parade to pose for the fans.
Bella Munoz’s first-half goal gave the Eagle’s a 1-0 lead. She also
assisted on the second goal with her corner kick in the CIF Finals.
