Memorial for Barbara Cameron (Noel)
This Memorial is for my Mom, Barbara
Cameron (Noel), who passed over to be with
our Lord on January 18, 2009. She gave me
an Abbreviated version of this poem several
years before her passing. I’m showing a
longer version, as I know she would want
as many as possible to enjoy it.
This poem was written by Isla Paschal
Richardson, a woman from Tennessee.
For those of you who were fans of “Ol’
Blue Eyes” as was my Mom, Here is a
piece of this poem’s history... It was read
by Gregory Peck at Frank Sinatra’s funeral
in 1998.
TO THOSE I LOVE
If I should ever leave you,
Whom I love.
To go along the silent way...
Grieve not.
Nor speak of me with tears.
But laugh and talk of me
As if I were beside you there.
And when you hear a song
Or see a bird I loved,
Please do not let the thought of me
Be sad...for I am loving you
Just as I always have...
You were so good to me!
There are so many things
I wanted still to do...
So many things I wanted to say
to you...Remember that
I did not fear...It was
Just leaving you
That was so hard to face.
We cannot see beyond...
But this I know:
I loved you so...
‘twas Heaven here with you!
Yes Mom, it was definitely Heaven here
with you too.
I am also still loving you,
just as I always have.
I miss you so very much.
Happy Re-Birthday Mom!
I’ll see you soon...
