Inglewood: All About Location!
On Sept. 30, the City of Inglewood hosted commercial property agents, brokers and owners for a mixer at Hollywood Park Turf Club entitled “Location: Inglewood.” The mixer served to inform and update this group on development activity in the City that could help them
market their properties. The event will be repeated every six months. Photo: City of Inglewood

Hawthorne Hotspot from page 3
As of Oct. 1, 2019 the use of plastic
straws is not be permitted unless asked for
by customers in all restaurants in the city of
Los Angeles. Restaurants that do not follow
this ordinance will be fined up to $25 per
customer complaint. This is a remarkable
step in changing the practices of businesses
to use less plastic and massively reduce the
number of straws littering the ocean waters.
This type of ordinance would greatly
benefit Hawthorne and surrounding cities if
similarly crafted legislation can be written
and implemented.
When a majority of households make a move
towards biodegradable material, many local
businesses and restaurants follow suit. Eliminating
the use of plastic straws, and learning
about the alternatives families can use rather
than plastic can lead to many benefits. If more
citizens from Hawthorne advocate for this
change, then the outcome will lead to a much
greater success than simply removing plastic
straws in our community… eventually leading
to a healthier and more sustainable way of life.

spot to the South Bay to get a taste of
what it’s like. The Old World Oktoberfest
down in Huntington Beach had some real
big problems last weekend, thank God more
people did not get hurt by the explosions.
The “real” Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany
is held over a 16 day period. Here are the
2019 results: More than six million people
attended Germany’s Oktoberfest this year.
But the amount of beer consumed dropped
compared to last year. Guests guzzled 7.3
million beers in the festival tents, according
to the breweries’ balance sheet – 200,000
fewer than last year. Wow! That sure is a
lot of cold ones.
Wedding Plans and
Pray for Power
I will give you the full run down next
week of how it all goes down this Saturday.
I keep on telling myself that I’m not
losing a daughter; I’m gaining a son.
PGE is turning off power due to the high
fire danger right around us starting tonight,
Tuesday. Hopefully, we will have power
restored at our church and at the reception
hall for the biggest day in our daughter’s
life. No lights, no organ music, no food
or cold ones would not be good. My ol’
lady is praying hard that there won’t be
any hiccups this weekend. This could be
interesting. Stay tuned.
