fitting place for my ashes. You see, we are
simply dust. Our lives do have meaning,
but none of us are capable of escaping the
inevitable. No matter how much money
or fame we have, our lives will end. Then
what? What happens to us after we die? This
question has been raised by many scholars,
wise philosophers, scientists, fortune tellers
and all of them type for many eons. What
happens to us after death? As a follower
of Christ, I base all of my beliefs on Holy
Scripture. Based on the Bible, I believe that
those who put their trust in the grace of God
through the life, death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ are saved. Our spirits are immediately
taken to heaven, with our bodies
staying in the ground until the last day when
Jesus returns to earth. We will be reunited
with our resurrected and glorious bodies on
that day. It’s not by my good works or by
doing anything on my part, but simply by
what Jesus has done. Salvation is a free gift
from God. All other religions of the world
require their followers to do something or
give something. Christianity has it in reverse,
we do nothing to earn salvation, God does it
all. We don’t choose God, God chooses us.
So, there it is, that’s what I put my hope on.
