Makers Market Pop-Up
Creative Communal is a pop up market

were also local market vendors. “We are an
open air market that brings local artisans and
families together. We wanted a market that
the whole family is welcomed and wants to
come to. At Creative Communal we have
something for everyone. When you shop with
us you know you’re shopping small; it’s a
lifestyle and a community.” Makers Market
pop-up will have over 15 different vendors
from Frida’s Henna and Jagua, HippyToes
Pottery, Senorita’s Clothing Boutique, and
many more fun and creative vendors! There
will be live music by Staxxi as well as raffles

Dulce’s Thoughts- Thank you
The day has come, this is the final article I
will be writing the Hawthorne Press Tribune.
I don’t want to be too emotional, but I also
can’t help but emphasize the impact writing the
Hawthorne Hotspot had on my life. As you may
well know, I have just recently turned eighteen
and had almost no idea what I wanted to do in
my life. I knew I loved writing, reading, and
poetry; yet, had no clear direction of what I
should do with my passion. When I was first
presented with the opportunity to write for the
Hawthorne Press Tribune, I believed I was too
inexperienced to successfully complete the job;
that all changed when I wrote my first article
in October, 2019. I was challenged yet excited
with what I planned to write and create that
over time, I just kept planning for the future
articles. Now here I am, writing my final article
and I am so full of content and pleasure. If it
wasn’t for my parents, or the wise guidance
from Hawthorne’s City Clerk, Dr. Jimenez,
my co-interns - Sara and Juan, or the City
Clerk staff - Diana and Lisa, I truly wouldn’t
be where I am today. As cliche as it sounds,
they all changed me for the better. I had the
opportunity to continue to grow alongside my
work and still am. I’m eternally grateful for all
I have learned and have created for the City
of Hawthorne. Thank you to all of you as
well as Herald Publications, and to the person
who recommended me from the start, Ruben
Sanchez. This was the Hawthorne Hotspot,
thank you all. •

Back Again For More
I know some of you keep hoping
that I stop writing these things. Me
and my ol’ lady went to Hawaii for
eight days so you were spared the last couple
of weeks of this self-inflicted torture. Let
me remind you that you don’t have to read
this crap. There is a delete button on your
computer, or for you old school people just
look at the cats in the hard copy newspaper
edition. It strikes me that the more I tell you
not to read my meanderings, the more interest
you have in reading them. If I bring stupidity,
it seems like my loyal readership ticks up by
one or two. I’m like an old sitcom, the more
ridiculous I am the better. Now I ask
the questions, “am I stupid enough?”,
“what is stupid?”, “is stupid in the eye
of the beholder?”. Let’s just move
on. I am back and we had a great
time. I hope and pray that all is well
with you and your family.
Age
They say that age is relative. You only are
as old as you feel. Time marches on. We
are all getting older and there is absolutely
nothing we can do about it. How old is
old? A dear friend passed away recently.
For those of us who lived in Hawthorne
and attended City Council meetings we will
always remember Frances Stiglich for her
feisty speeches directed at the City Council
