A Special Delivery from a Good Neighbor
The Hawthorne Police Department started their day shift with a surprise of 10 pizzas, sodas and salad. A special thank you goes to Mr. Brian Davidson who called with a kind message to start the work week and wanted to feed the staff. What a thoughtful act of kindness
that shows that Hawthorne is truly the City of Good Neighbors. Photo courtesy Hawthorne Police Department.

Welcome 2021!
By Samantha Schmidt
Intro
Hi Hawthorne! Welcome to the new year
of 2021! I genuinely hope all of you had a
fantastic but, most importantly, a safe holiday!
I feel like we should all be proud of ourselves
for getting through 2020. I understand it took
a stressful toll on us, whether financially,
emotionally, mentally, or all the above. But

and can start looking positively toward the
new year. Like many others, I like to find
a fresh start in the new year, make a list of
goals, find self-love, and so on. Here are a

you project positive energy into the new year!

However, let me tell you, sometimes we
need time off technology. Our brain deserves
a break from looking at a small screen and
seeing the latest Twitter trend. From personal
experience, there was a time where I deactivated
all my social media accounts for four
months, and it truly was a great refresher.
During those four months, I stopped focusing
on my insecurities, picked up little hobbies,
and grew my mindset. Especially during
the times, we live in, I suggest pursuits like
meditation can help you open your mind and
leave your phone!
Give Yourself More Compliments
Because of the stressful environment
created the last year, it’s not uncommon to
sometimes be hard on ourselves, including
myself. We were all used to being in a routine
