The MSC will provide needed flexibility and gate space, while reducing reliance on LAX remote gates where passengers are currently bused to board aircraft. On December 9 and 10, Cougar Theatre of Hawthorne High School will present Ole´ for Hollywood! Written by the nation’s premier Latino improv group, Latins Anonymous, Ole´ for Hollywood! is a searing social satire and hilarious cultural commentary on the contemporary American-Latin experience in the guise of an irreverent, over-the-top, Tinseltown awards show. The tunnel will feature 42-inchthick walls and a roof designed to withstand 660 tons-plus. The concourse design specifies LEED Silver certification and CAL Green Tier 1 status, with substantial completion slated for late 2019. A second phase will add gates on the terminal south end. Site preparation has begun with demolition of the former TWA hangar, with demolition of the former U.S. Coast Guard hangar to follow. and community members to begin dialogues about a variety of subjects and current events, including: immigration, Spanglish, civil unrest, racism, border militias, Latina body image and the media’s stereotyping of minorities.
