Purrrfect Companions
Kumquat Oroblanca and Cara Cara
Give one of these kitties a second chance
for a lifetime of love when you adopt a pet
without a partner.
Percy and Noodle are best buddies at the
Kitten Rescue Adoption Center where they
live. They would love to go to their new
home together or maybe with one of the many
friends they have made here.
Percy is a gallant knight out to protect, serve
and play with his best friend, Noodle, and all
kittens under his protection. Percy is stunning
in his brown, feathery-ticked coat. He loves
warm laps and to receive belly rubs. Percy
is the best kitten ever with his regal manner
and playful antics, not to mention his epic
cuddling. Percy needs to have another cat or
kitten to protect, so he can only be adopted
with another kitten.
Noodle is a sweet little nutcase who loves to
snuggle. He is playful with kitties and people.
He is smart enough to entertain himself and
is welcoming to other kitties who want to
play as well. He is very tolerant of brushing
and nail trims. Noodle will be a stunning big
kitty when he grows up. But right now, he
is simply adorable. Noodle must be adopted
with another kitty -- either one existing in the
home already or one you adopt with him. His
best friend is Percy, but he has many friends
at the Adoption Center.
Ashton and Daphne are a beautiful brother/
sister pair who are shy and need a quiet,
calm home. Ashton loves head scratches
and hanging out with you. Once he is comfortable
in your presence, he will lounge on
the floor and stretch out his entire body. His
favorite place is perched high in a cat tree.
If you want a kitty with a silly personality,
Ashton is the one. Ashton loves playing with
his more outgoing sister, Daphne. He looks
to his sister for guidance, so he would be
best adopted with her so he could have her
support. Daphne also enjoys head scratches
and will purr very loudly in appreciation. If
you are looking for a super-sweet kitty, then
Daphne is your girl. She will give you sweet
little kisses when you pet her. She is the
more outgoing of the two and will provide
direction for Ashton at times. Daphne is very
attached to her brother and would love to be
adopted with him.
Oroblanco, Cara Cara and Kumquat are our
sweet little “citrus” kittens. Due to their young
ages and energy levels, they each will need
a playful buddy to grow up with -- ideally
another kitten of similar disposition. It would
be great to adopt them in a pair or as a trio
if you don’t already have a fun-loving feline
friend for them. They could integrate with
other kittens and cats, or cat-friendly dogs
easily, though they haven’t met any dogs yet.
Oroblanco is a lovable, playful kitten who
knows how to balance high-energy playtime
with sweet, snuggly people time. He’s the
big guy of the family, but not dominant or
aggressive. He’s actually a bit more tentative
than his siblings, getting the lay of the land
before jumping into new things. Oroblanco is
particularly affectionate when held or cuddled.
He loves to get right in your face for nose
boops and cheek rubs. He is the most likely
of the group to peel off from playtime to
climb on your lap for a recharge. He enjoys
a full-body scratch, lots of long pets from
head-to-toe and face rubs.
Cara Cara is a very playful high-energy
kitten who never gets tired of running and
pouncing around the room with her brothers.
Affectionate and sweet, she purrs to the
touch and is amenable to frequent breaks
from romping around if you scoop her up for
hugs and kisses. She loves people, approaches
when she sees you and enjoys patting your
hands or nuzzled exchanges. Cara Cara has
not met a toy she doesn’t love! Her favorites
are plastic springs, which bounce in all directions
and give her an exciting workout. She
carries them around the room in her mouth
looking for the perfect spot to drop and play.
Kumquat is an outgoing, energetic little guy
who is always ready to go when anyone says
it’s playtime! He’s a slight and slender frame
built for the tosses and turns his siblings bring
to him. On the interpersonal side, Kumquat
loves people and starts purring immediately
when you pet or hold him. This is when the
charming people-lover in him comes out and
he can turn his attention to you. Kumquat is
adventurous and loves to discover new things.
As an all-out physical comic, he consistently
delivers a hilarious performance during his
playtime.

City Council from front page
Dr. Carliss McGhee, a member of the
Inglewood Unified School Board and former
president of that group, expressed confidence
in a future partnership with the City. “We have
an opportunity to have a relationship with
the City. He [Butts] has a vision and a plan
to work with us to get that vision achieved,”
said McGhee.
Incumbent Lawndale Mayor Robert Pullen-
Miles was also on hand for the celebration. He
appeared on his local ballot, up for reelection
for a second two-year term. He also has a
vested interest in the new developments in
Inglewood. “When Inglewood is successful,
the rest of the South Bay is successful,” said
Pullen-Miles. “We are just five miles down
the street.” The main thoroughfares of Prairie
Avenue and Hawthorne Boulevard connect the
two cities. “That puts us in the best position
to benefit from the residual success of our
surrounding communities. That’s how tourism
works.”
Butts, secure in another term, said, “We are
celebrating the beginnings of a victory. There
are so many precincts to be counted yet, but we
are comfortable with the lead we’ve amassed.”
Butts, who campaigned on the slogan, “The
only thing that’s changed in Inglewood, is
everything,” ended his comments, saying, “The
City of Inglewood can’t be bought, not even
for a million dollars. We will determine our
own path and our own destiny. We want to
finish what we’ve started.”
Los Angeles County election results would
eventually declare Butts the winner, with 63
percent of the vote. His closest challenger,
Marc Little, would garner 18 percent of the
total 21,403 votes. •
