so the MSFR folks were able to rescue both
of us. People say that I’m a real looker and
it’s probably because I’m mostly Schnauzer,
with a natural tail and a stunning black and
silver coat. At 14 pounds, I’m smaller than
my brother. Compared to him, I’m the shy
and reserved one. I get along fine with other
dogs and I’m really friendly -- so once I reach
my “grown-up” weight of 16 pounds, I think
I’ll be fine. I would love to find a home that
would take both my brother and me…but if
that’s impossible, I definitely need a home
with another doggie pal to keep me company.”

our pet adoption fairs which are held every
Saturday at the Petco located at 537 N. Pacific
Coast Hwy., Redondo Beach 90277, from
noon to 3: 30 p.m. If you are interested in
volunteering and can commit to at least one
Saturday a month, please contact us at info@

Schnauzers & Friends rescues at the adoption

“Hi, I’m Chip of Chip and Dale. Not
the chipmunks, but the 9-month old, male
Miniature Schnauzer mix dogs whose mother
had a great sense of humor. My brother Dale
and I decided to do some exploring, but we
became lost and ended up at an LA county
shelter where they called us strays. I’m not
sure what that is, but I sure didn’t like being
called that. I got really nervous when I thought
I had found a home and would have to leave
my brother, but then my potential adopter never
appeared. Apparently they changed their minds,
to worry because my brother was supposed to
get adopted, but thankfully the adopter never
showed -- so we both got rescued. I’ve been
told that I’m a Miniature Schnauzer mix, but
no one can figure out what the mix is. With my
natural tail and beautiful salt and pepper coat,
I look just like any other extremely handsome
9-month old, male Miniature Schnauzer. I’m
currently 17 pounds, but when fully grown I
could be a whopping 20 pounds. I admit that
I need some work on obedience training as
well as a little Housebreaking 101, but I’m
pretty confident that I’ll exceed at both in no
time. I get along great with dogs and am a
pretty playful guy. I would be ecstatic to find
a family that would take my brother and me,
but if that’s not doable I must find a home
that has a doggie pal to show me the ropes.”

“Hello! We’d like to introduce ourselves.
We’re Mickey, a 1-year old Corgi mix, and
Winnie, a 6-month old Beagle mix. Our
former owners relinquished us to the rescue
when they realized that their lives had become
overwhelming. They knew that they didn’t
have the time that two smart pups deserve for
training and couldn’t give us the attention that
we deserved. Now we’re looking for a home
that will take both of us since we love each
other and have bonded entirely. My gal Winnie
is still very much a puppy. She currently weighs
10 pounds and will remain a smaller-sized dog
and that suits her just fine. Her best buddy
Mickey is also 10 pounds of cuteness and
personality as well as being very intelligent.
Both of us love to give kisses, be petted and
spend time with people -- mostly sitting on
their laps. We get along great with cats and
dogs, but really love spending time together.
We’re working really hard on housebreaking and
making remarkable progress with our training.
We’d be the perfect addition to your family if
intelligence, cuteness, loyalty and a lifetime of
companionship are what you’re looking for.”
