PUBLIC NOTICES
NOTICE OF PETITION TO
ADMINISTER ESTATE OF
ANTONIO J. DE VERA JR.;
CASE NUMBER 18STPB10144
To all heirs, beneficiaries, creditors, contingent
creditors, and persons who may otherwise
be interested in the will or estate, or both,
of Antonio J. De Vera Jr.
A Petition for Probate has been filed by
Elvira De Vera, Mark De Vera, and Maria
Lourdes De Vera-Sevilla in the Superior
Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
The Petition for Probate requests that Maria
Lourdes De Vera-Sevilla be appointed as
personal representative to administer the
estate of the decedent.
The petition requests authority to administer
the estate under the Independent Administration
of Estates Act. (This authority will allow
the personal representative to take many
actions without obtaining court approval.
Before taking certain very important actions,
however, the personal representative will be
required to give notice to interested persons
unless they have waived notice or consented
to the proposed action.) The independent
administration authority will be granted unless
an interested person files an objection to
the petition and shows good cause why
the court should not grant the authority.
The hearing on the petition was originally
scheduled for 11/30/2018 at 8:30AM in
Department 29 of the Superior Court of
California, County of Los Angeles, Stanley
Mosk Courthouse, 111 North Hill Street, Los
Angeles, CA 90012. At request of the
petitioners’ attorney, the hearing is continued
to 2/01/2019 at 8:30AM in Department
29 at the previously stated court address.
If you object to the granting of the petition,
you should appear at the hearing and state
your objections or file written objections
with the court before the hearing. Your
appearance may be in person or by your
attorney. If you are a creditor or a contingent
creditor of the decedent, you must file your
claim with the court and mail a copy to
the personal representative appointed by
the court within the later of either (1) four
months from the date of first issuance of
letters to a general personal representative,
as defined in section 58(b) of the California
Probate Code, or (2) 60 days from the date
of mailing or personal delivery to you of a
notice under section 9052 of the California
Probate Code. Other California statutes and
legal authority may affect your rights as a
creditor. You may want to consult with an
attorney knowledgeable in California law.
You may examine the file kept by the court.
If you are a person interested in the estate,
you may file with the court a Request for
Special Notice (form DE-154) of the filing of
an inventory and appraisal of estate assets
or of any petition or account as provided
in Probate Code section 1250. A Request
for Special Notice form is available from
the court clerk.
The attorney for petitioners is Lioness J.
Ebbay with an address at 12219 Hawthorne
Blvd., Suite 205, Hawthorne, CA 90250,
and a telephone number (310) 355-8885.

to see all students succeed. Warren and Frances
Ford had several wonderful adventures when
he participated in two sabbaticals that took
them on journeys to Europe and Asia.
Frances Ford has donated and bequeathed
nearly $1 million to the El Camino College
Foundation in support of nursing and chemistry
scholarships, and programs to support student
success. Each year, up to a dozen students
receive the generous two-year scholarships
she established. Frances Ford, at 92 years
young, is very active and enjoys traveling to
Mexico, Hawaii and Iowa to see her brother.
Edison International is the 2018 Corporate
Gratitude honoree. For more than 20 years,
Edison International, parent company of
Southern California Edison, has supported
students at El Camino College with more than
$700,000 in donations to fine arts, STEM,
MESA, business programs and Women in
Technology, as well as student scholarships.
Most recently, donations to El Camino College
have been designated for the prestigious
Edison STEM scholarships that reflect Edison
International’s investment in education that
helps transform lives and change entire communities.
The support focuses on providing
underrepresented students access to higher
education through scholarships to study
STEM disciplines, with a goal to create a
future workforce that reflects the diversity
of its customer base.
Edison’s grant funding provides students
the opportunity to attend college by easing
the financial burden that can often be a
barrier to academic success. In many cases,
Edison STEM scholarships are awarded to
students who are the first in their families to
attend college. Edison International invests
$20 million annually in the areas of education,
environment, civic engagement and
public safety.
