Dear Friends, Neighbors and Fellow Parents,
We, the undersigned parents of El Segundo (by no means an exhaustive list!), stand with the El Segundo Unified School
District – its valued teachers, administration and staff – during these unprecedented times.
We understand the challenges of a virtual learning environment for both parents and educators and appreciate the
significant efforts by ESUSD to provide cohesive academic instruction this 2020-2021 school year.
We support a commitment to actively educating and standing against racism. Celebrating diverse experiences and
recognizing the value each person brings to the Eagle Family is the implementation of The Eagle Promise, as beautifully
articulated by El Segundo High School.
We do not believe districtwide Equity, Diversity and Inclusion efforts constitute an anti-police stance. Nor is it at odds
with our community’s morals and core beliefs.
We welcome thoughtful dialogue on this important topic.
