Simplify Voting For Whom?
Whom is it we need to simplify voting for?
People who are more willing to camp out over
night to watch the Rose Parade or buy the
newest tech gadget or those who are willing
to stand in multiple lines in amusement parks
rather then make the effort to register and then
vote in elections? Alternatively, is it that we
need to make it easier for non-citizens to vote
or for people to vote multiple times in different
districts, cities, or even states? I seriously
wonder who is being targeted?
Exactly what is so difficult about registering
to vote and then to actually vote? It’s not like
this needs to be done before every election or
even every 10 years. Everyone knows when
they are turning 18 and everyone knows well in
advance when elections are going to take place.
Exactly how much time is needed to prepare?
In light of the “Russian” meddling in our
elections, isn’t it more important to focus on the
integrity of our elections? Is there a nationwide
concern about all “foreign” meddling in our
elections? Why is it so wrong to want everyone
to be able to prove that they are legal U. S.
Citizens in order to vote or doesn’t citizenship
and integrity mean anything any more?
I wonder does anyone think that Mexico is
racist or guilty of suppressing legitimate voters
because they require Voter IDs to vote? I
don’t think so!

Baseball Academy Free Clinic
for Special Needs Kids
El Segundo’s Beach City Baseball Academy
(BCBA) offers a no-cost clinic as a community
service to children with special needs. Presently,
approximately 25 boys and girls from
all the South Bay cities and throughout Los
Angeles County participate in the program.
Children living with the challenge of autism
and other special needs often have difficulty
acquiring the basic skills and coordination
needed to play and enjoy a variety of sports.
The members of the BCBA professional
coaching staff have great success with special
one-on-one 30-minute sessions to any child
in the community in need. The unlimited
and free program provides no less than
two sessions per month of overall fitness
training for each child on a regular basis.
The children gain confidence in mastering
skills, thus unlocking the barriers to enjoying
sports and gaining a well-deserved sense of
accomplishment.
For more information on the Special
Needs Clinic, contact the Beach City Baseball
Academy (430 E. Grand Avenue) at
