Slice & Pint Celebrates
One Year in El Segundo
By Chase Maser
Growing up on the 300 block of Loma
Vista St., Rob Croxall—President of El
Segundo Brewing Company—can remember
riding his bike down Grand Ave., dreaming
of the day he would run his own business.
“I would ride my bike by their hundreds
of times as a kid. Then one day, I was
walking my dog down Grand and I saw that
there was space available in the building
on the corner of Richmond. Right away, I
just had this vision for a restaurant there.
It’s a cool building—it’s a great location.”
Shortly after, Croxall got in touch with
the guys who owned the building, they
loved his concept and Slice & Pint was
born. In fact, it wasn’t a tough decision
for Croxall and his team to choose pizza
as their main dish.
“To be honest, there wasn’t any pizza
elsewhere that I really loved and we wanted
to do something a step up from other runof
the-mill pizza places—kind of something
that would compliment our quality approach
to beer at the brewery.”
At 140 Main St. directly across from Rock
N’ Brews, the El Segundo Brewing Company
has already been a local powerhouse that
Croxall has had the pleasure of spearheading
since 2010.
Inspired by the same brewing principals
cultivated in San Diego, El Segundo Brewing

Getting to Know Lance Giroux
The El Segundo Herald sent Lance Giroux
a few questions, so the community can get to
know a little bit about their upcoming new
councilmember, who was the sole candidate
for the vacant council seat and starts his
term in April.
Background
I was born in Upstate New York and grew
up in Peabody, Mass., a town about 15 miles
outside of Boston. I was very active in all
sports but settled on two main sports by high
school: baseball and hockey. Baseball was my
passion for a very long time. I was fortunate
to have played from Little League through
college. Off the field, I was active in theater at
school and in the community. It was a unique
and enjoyable situation going from the stage
to the diamond daily.
After graduating from Boston College in
1990 with a B.A. in Economics, I was offered
a position with Procter & Gamble and spent
five years working in sales and marketing
in N.Y., N.J. and Fla. I earned my M.B.A.
from Nova Southeastern University, attending
classes every weekend for two years while
working full-time.
Seeking new challenges and growth potential
in my career, I moved to China in 1995
and joined the footwear industry. I served
as a quality control manager responsible for
15 factories, a staff of 35 employees and
more than 60 million pairs of shoes per year
manufactured for export to the United
States. In 1997, I was promoted to a country
manager position based in Leon, Mexico. I
lived and worked there for a year before being
promoted to the sales and design headquarters
in New York City. I spent two years in New
York calling on major U.S. retailers, including
Target, JCPenney and Kohl’s. In 2000, I was
hired by Dynasty Footwear and relocated to
El Segundo. I have been at my company for
twenty years and currently serve as Executive
Vice President of Sales and Operations.
Family
My wife Gina and I have been married for
21 years this February. We met when I was
working in Leon, Mexico. Our children, Luc,
an eighth grader, and Lia, a sixth grader, attend
E.S.M.S.
Mexico holds a very special place in our
family’s hearts. My wife and children were
born there. My children’s first language is
Spanish. I am very proud of the fact that
