Page 10 September 5, 2013 Fueling the future through education Earlier this year, the Chevron El Segundo Refinery announced $1.6 million in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)-related grants to local schools and education programs, bringing the refinery’s four year local STEM initiative investments to over $6 million. Chevron believes that investing in California communities and schools is as important as investing in California energy. Education is fundamental to maintain our state’s competiveness and long-term economic development. Funding STEM programs helps to prepare today’s students and tomorrow’s leaders. The Chevron El Segundo Refinery looks forward to the next 100 years of education partnerships and the opportunity to not only support local schools, but more importantly, our youth and the future of California.
