Now, we have an additional black eye on the city in the form of Chris Brown. His carefully orchestrated election brought factions of political outsiders that destroyed what was mostly a non-partisan decision making body. Chris Brown is proving to be what many of us believed from the start- an incompetent fraud and charlatan who cannot manage his own finances and now is taking from the pockets of the taxpayers. But he did not do this alone. One can also point a finger of blame toward the City Manager, Mike Goodson and lack of oversight and due diligence on most of the city council. Olivia Valentine and Angie English participated in this mess and have been advocates for the mayor’s actions. Now, Mr. Goodson has imposed a gag order at City Hall to hide from the citizens what is public record. So much for transparency. Another overused word. The “silly season” has opened and many will be running for office this November, including Mr. Brown and Ms. Valentine. The citizens have had enough and will be working hard to unseat these people. It would save us a lot of trouble if Mr. Brown would step down now, but he is too arrogant and certainly not “Godly” as he likes to claim. Maybe Mr. Brown should check his bible as to paraphrase Proverbs 10:9- he who walks in integrity will walk securely, but he who perverts his ways and lives dishonestly will be exposed. Mr. Brown has no integrity and been exposed. It is time to flush him out of office.
