Congratulations to Pilgrim and his new family.
Adrian
Congratulations to Pilgrim and his new
family. We knew this guy was going to be
something special to the right family and
he sure is. His new family was heartbroken
when they lost their 13-year-old “Schnoodle”
to cancer several months ago. They decided
they needed another dog to help heal their
hearts and so they began their search. When
they met Pilgrim, it was love at first sight.
The little ham was irresistible with all of his
pawing for attention, his facial expressions and
his loving temperament. He won them over
immediately and is now living in Manhattan
Beach. Pilgrim, now named Atlas, has a
16-year-old human brother and a mom who
works from home most of the time. When
he went to his new home, this little guy
just walked right in and sat down on their
furniture as if he knew this is where he was
supposed to be. Wishing them many happy
years together and we hope they continue to
come visit us at adoptions. •
Precious Pooches
proven I can hold my own when the chips
are down, I’m really more of a lover than a
fighter. I’m also a very fun-loving, playful
guy with my friends.” If you’re interested
in Rocky, please email info@msfr.org for
more information.
“Please allow me to introduce myself. My
name is Adrian and I’m a diminutive, threemonth
old gal of questionable lineage. I was
born in an LA County shelter on Oct. 8, 2017
after my mom, who was obviously pregnant,
was taken to the shelter by animal control.
Later that night she gave birth to a litter of
four puppies but sadly, Rocky and I are the
only survivors. I don’t look like my brother
We are looking for volunteers to help with

you can’t adopt just one.
“They call me Rocky and it’s the perfect
name because I’m certainly determined and
a little fighter. Life has been pretty ‘rocky’
for my sister, Adrian, and myself. On Oct.
8, 2017, my mom Mamacita was found
wandering the streets and pregnant. Luckily
for us, animal control took her to an LA
County shelter where later that night she had
a litter of four puppies. Sadly, only two of
us survived. The MSFR volunteers rescued
my mom--who is a tiny, 8.5-pound Shih
Tzu-Terrier mix—along with my sister and
myself. They have given all of us the best
care possible. Now it’s time for us to find our
forever families. Curiously, I don’t resemble
my mom and I don’t know my dad…so my
pedigree is a bit of a mystery. I look more
like a tiny black and tan Doxie mix who
weighed in at a whopping 3.5 pounds when
I was 11 weeks old. Don’t forget that it’s
not the size of the dog in the fight. It’s the
size of the fight in the dog. Even though I’ve
Rocky, nor do I resemble our mom. Clearly,
since Dad is no longer in the picture, I don’t
know if I look like him. I can tell you that I
look like a Papillion mix--with one ear up and
one ear down! I’m a dainty, petite miss who,
at 11 weeks of age, weighed only 2.5-pounds
and don’t have high hopes of becoming what
one would call a big dog. I love to play, I’m
very sweet and I know that I could be the
perfect addition to any family. I’m becoming
desperate to find my family so I won’t have
to hear ‘Yo Adrian, it’s me, Rocky’ anymore.
Remember that good things come in small
packages and I would be the best thing ever
to come into your life.” If you’re interested
in Adrian, please email info@msfr.org for
more information.
“Hi there! I am Billie, a two-year-old, male
Miniature Schnauzer mix who was homeless
and living on the streets of Tijuana. How did
I get to Tijuana? My companion Holiday
and I decided to take a trip with friends and
ventured south of the border for a weekend
of fun. Unfortunately, we missed our ride
home and without any place to stay, ended
up living on the street. Luckily I’m pretty
resourceful and Holiday had quite a voice,
so we made our living as street entertainers.
Finally, a rescue group rounded us up and
returned us to the USA where they contacted
MSFR. The MSFR folks were kind enough
to take us in and helped my friend find her
forever home, but I’m still searching for mine.
It has been decided that my mix could very
well be Doxie because I have a longer, trim,
14-pound body with legs that are very sturdy
but a bit short. Being a youngster, I’m still
very playful and have retained my puppyish
charm that endears me to people and other
dogs. I guess that’s why I get along well with
everyone and make friends easily.” If you’re
interested in Billie, please email info@msfr.
