The City of Inglewood’s Video Urges
Everyone to Keep That Mask On
Inspired by the 7x platinum hit by rapper Future, The City of Inglewood puts a public health spin on the song to urge everyone in the community, to KEEP THAT MASK ON while in public. Mask On is a cover song intended for non-commercial, educational purposes under Fair
Use, as we believe that it adds new expression or meaning to the original song. The City does not claim to own any rights to this song. To see the video, go to the City of Inglewood’s Facebook page. Photo courtesy City of Inglewood.

I’m not suggesting anyone should or even
could refrain from exercising power over others,
especially their children. But do try to
remember what it is like not to hold power,
and act accordingly. Two things could help
right away: first, taking the time to explain
your thinking and decision-making (avoid
“because I said so,” tempting though it is)
helps reduce a sense of unfairness, even
when you cannot agree. Second, remember
that wielding power takes skill, and teaching
your children to wield it properly is a worthy
use of all of your time.

enough to feed themselves. That is why we
need to check up and share resources with
everyone. You never know if that person you
shared with may know someone searching
for these types of services. As for me, I feel
blessed to be living in a household where
my parents provide my siblings and I food
and that I own a laptop with a working Wi-
Fi connection at home. However, knowing
others who live in low-income neighborhoods,
I try to find as many resources as
I can and share on my personal Instagram
page. For example, I followed this girl who
I never knew, but we both followed the same
friends. For example, because I am a college
student, my school SMC provides student
funding via the CARES Fund Act. This is a
program that gives $600 to each student in
need of supplies, textbooks, and even rent.
I was lucky enough to receive the funding,
but I also wanted to share this with others
who are in need of money. Therefore, I did
research and provided the link to the CARES
Fund Act on my Instagram story. This girl
DM’d me and thanked me for sharing this
link. She was running low on money to pay
for her classes in the upcoming semester. The
fact that only by sharing a link, I was able to
impact someone’s life, felt truly incredible.
In any case, we should always remember
to not be selfish during these tough times
and give a helping hand wherever we can. •
