Hawthorne High School is So Happy
to be Back for the 2021-22 School Year
The first week was a success, students arrived on time, ready with their COVID pre screen confirmation for entry and in class, ready to learn. There were plenty of activities all week and the excitement to be back at school filled the air at Hawthorne High School. Photo

Beating Around the Bush
I’ve been accused of beating
around the bush, side stepping
an issue, mincing words when
it comes to avoiding politically
sensitive issues. So, here we go,
there’s no holding back. I’m going
to spill my guts, tell it like it is, hang
out all of my dirty laundry, leave no stone
untouched, throw caution to the wind, and
flat out speak from my heart. If I offend
you, I apologize in advance. If you disagree
with me, no problem, I respect your opinion.
This is America, we have the freedom to
say what we want. If I come across like
a flag waving, patriotic, old white geezer
who is not woke or hip or with it, then so
be it. Our country has changed and maybe
I’m living in the past. So, here it is: I’m
voting yes on the recall and for Larry Elder
to be California’s next governor. I think
we surrendered in Afghanistan, it’s a total
embarrassment to our country and shameful
for us to negotiate with a terrorist group of
haters. We have the most powerful army
in the world and have chosen to struggle to
evacuate our own people out. I voted for
Mr. Trump twice and will vote to elect him
a third time if he chooses to run. I believe
along with many others that his second
election was stolen from him and
the over 80 million people who
voted for him. Vaccines are good,
but if someone choses not to get
one, they should not be cast out
or required to get a shot. We take
precautions but no one should be
forced to get a shot. I’m a Christian
and believe that the killing of
the unborn is wrong, that marriage
is between a man and a woman.
I believe that God made us either male or
female and that is our gender for life. We
are to love our neighbors, but not love the
sin that has led us away from God’s Word
and his promises. There are many people in
our world who do not know that God loves
them. There are many who do not think
there is a God. Without a God, there are no
values or morals or after life. It is so sad
to think that many of our neighbors, friends
or family members are walking around like
zombies, living from one moment to the next
without any thought for the future or what
this life means. I pray that all of us could
see the big picture, that we all could see that
God created us in his image, gives us life,
loves and takes care of us here on earth. God
sent his Son, Jesus Christ to die for us and
wants us to be with him in heaven. There
is purpose to life. There is order. There
is a God who is in control. You may not
agree with my political views, however our
