CDC Recommends that Fully Vaccinated People Wear Masks
Indoors in Places with High COVID Transmission Rates
This recommendation follows the LA County indoor masking requirements that went into effect July 17. The CDC is also recommending that children wear masks in school this fall. This recommendation comes as the highly contagious delta variant continues to spread,
especially in areas with low rates of COVID vaccinations. If you are still unsure about if you should get the COVID vaccine, please visit getvaccineanswers.org. For more information on COVID-19 vaccine clinics in your area visit the LA County Department of Public Health site

Huber’s Hiccups
News for the City of Good
Neighbors from an Old Guy
named Norb Huber
I’m Back!
I was lazy. I couldn’t think of
anything to write. I didn’t want to
ruin your summer by sending out
another boring blurb that amounts
to nothing more than run together
thoughts that make no sense to
anyone any way, so why bother? I know
one or two or three of you missed me. It’s
been three whole weeks since I last told you
to relax and have a cold one. Some of you
have enjoyed your peaceful time away from
me. Some of you were just hoping that I had
quit, chucked it in, bit the dust, crocked, had
permanent writer’s cramps, or flat out stop
dribbling this low end, journalistic crap. It’s
going to take more than your bad wishes to
pound the final nail into my writing coffin.
Until my mind completely goes blank and
my figures no longer can tickle the keyboard
and slide the mouse around, you all are stuck
with me. Delete me if you don’t like this
stuff. Let my words float around in the
cloud. I missed you all. Once a week I look
forward to filling your inbox with flunky fluff.
So, enjoy. Fake your enjoyment, if you have
to. Enjoy life, enjoy living, enjoy relaxing,
enjoy reading my words of encouragement.
God loves you, I love you, and in some,
strange, twisted way I think you love me.
Be safe my friends!
Nothing to Fear
During the darkest days of the Great
Depression, President Franklin D.
Roosevelt tried to calm people’s
anxieties by saying, “The only
thing we have to fear is fear itself.”
That sounds good. But no matter
how strong our Christian faith is,
we will have worries and fears
at times. We may have concerns
about our health, our family or
our finances. We may worry about
the future. Will our great country
survive with all that is happening? Will our
kids and grandkids have a good, safe place
to live and work? Thankfully, we never
have to fear that God will abandon us. We
read a great promise in Isaiah 41:10 “Fear
not, for I am with you . . . I am your God; I
will strengthen you , I will help you.” Wow!
God, the creator of the universe, promises
to be with us, strengthen us, and help us!
What more do we need? There is nothing
we face that is more powerful than God’s
mighty hand. Put into perspective, our worries
and all of our anxiety is tiny compare
to this truth that we can lean upon. Jesus
tells us many times throughout his earthly
life to “fear not”. God promises to be with
us until our very last breath here upon earth.
So, relax folks. Go out and live fearlessly.
Don’t be weighed down but worry. Relax,
enjoy a cold drink and ponder what God’s
love and promises mean to you. When we
stop worrying we can live fearlessly, loving
our family, friends, and neighbors. Fear not
people, fear not!
