Hawthorne School District announces its policy for providing free and
reduced-price meals for children served under the National School Lunch Program and
School Breakfast Program. The central office has a copy of the policy, which may be
reviewed by any interested party. For easy access, the application is found at ezmealapp.com
beginning August 1st. The household size and income criteria identified below will be used
to determine eligibility for free, reduced-price, or full-price meals. Children from households
whose income is at or below the levels shown are eligible for free or reduced-price
meals. Applications are required annually. Children who receive CalFresh, CalWORKs, Kin-GAP,
or FDPIR benefits are automatically eligible for free meals regardless of the income of the
household in which they reside, with a completed application. Applicants will be notified by
mail or email of their eligibility within 10 days of submission; if not, applicants should contact
the Nutrition Services Department at 14120 S. Hawthorne Blvd, CA (310)263-3990.
