The Inglewood Unified School
District Survey Now Online
Each year, the Inglewood Unified School
District gathers input from the local community,
parents and staff to identify goals
for the Local Control and Accountability
Plan (LCAP). The LCAP directly impacts
how funds are allocated within the budget.
The District is now gathering input for
the 2018-2019 school year LCAP via an
online survey.
California state law sets out the system for
funding public schools. State leaders largely
decide how much money is available to
schools each year as part of the state budget
process. In 2013, California adopted a new
formula for deciding how much money each
school district gets, called the Local Control
Funding Formula (LCFF). School districts
will decide how to use the funds, but under
the new system they must get input from
their local communities, parents, students,
teachers, administrators and staff. They also
have to tie their budgets to improvement
goals by creating an LCAP.
Once they begin the survey, respondents
must first identify in which school their students
are enrolled. They then have options
to strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly
disagree, or indicate that they don’t know
about a variety of key topics including
communication with principals and staff,
campus safety, academic support, access to
technology, knowledge or behavioral rules,
volunteer opportunities, and more. The survey
is available on the District website at
