Residents may receive up to $1,000 per month for up to three consecutive months. “We know that our residents have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mayor Alex Vargas. “I am pleased that the City Council approved a program that will help residents pay their rent and avoid eviction.” The City of Hawthorne has made available $1.7 million in rental assistance. Since funds are limited, the City expects to help about 330 low- and moderate-income residents. Residents are encouraged to apply online at www.cityofhawthorne. org/erag.
