The Spartans, who fell to 1-3, gave Been Winning a scare by taking a 29-20 halftime lead. They continued to hold a lead until Marquese Cook gave Been Winning the lead for good with three-point basket. That gave Been Winning a 37-36 advantage. The Spartans held a 36-32 advantage with 6:18 left in the game before Been Winning scored nine unanswered points and closed the game with a 13-2 run. Cook proved dominant with a game-high 26 points, 14 of those in the fourth quarter. De Juane Wingfield added six points and Jaylin Washington chipped in three. Nate Alredge sparked the Spartans with 11 points, followed by Jordan Caldwell with nine and Anthony Valle with eight.
