butternut squash) (about 1 pound)
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
• 1 cup Prego® Roasted Garlic Parmesan
Alfredo Sauce or Prego® Homestyle Alfredo
Sauce
Provided by Campbell Soup Company

heat. Add the onion and cook for 1 minute. Add the squash and cook for 3 minutes,
stirring occasionally.
• Step 2: Stir in the sauce, broth, sage and lemon zest and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to
medium. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
• Step 3: Stir in the lemon juice. Season to taste. Sprinkle with the bacon and parsley just
before serving. •
• 1/2 cup Swanson® Vegetable Broth
• 2 teaspoons shredded fresh sage leaves
• 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1/4 cup cooked crumbled bacon (from
about 4 strips)
• 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Ingredients
Directions
A classic Carbonara recipe gets a lightened-up twist by using butternut
squash noodles instead of spaghetti. Starting with Prego Alfredo Sauce, then
adding bacon and onion, makes it easy to create a classic Carbonara flavor
profile. Lemon and sage add a unique flavor twist that pairs perfectly with
the butternut squash noodles for an easy dinner that is not only delicious but
also a good source of fiber and provides a full serving of veggies.

the City Clerk’s office to complain is correct
in raising that question, WHY? Why do I
do this? All I can say it is because I enjoy
“bonding” with my readers. I try to write my
simple thoughts and maybe sometimes it’s
the same thoughts you have had. I must be
somewhat entertaining for several people to
say that they enjoy reading this stuff. They
tell me to keep it up. So, why not? Why not
encourage people to relax, enjoy life, have a
cold one, solve all of their problems with a
few swigs, drown all of their guilt away, let
the good times roll, let their suds overflow
but please don’t slip on the wet floor. I am
not City Clerk any more. I don’t speak for
the City. I have nothing to lose. I can say
whatever I want. If you don’t like it, then
you need to chill. Free speech, freedom of the
press, free newspapers, I’m free. Free indeed.
Thank God I’m free. So, I have one loyal
reader who hates me. Okay, from now on
I’ll have to keep track of haters, toleraters,
amusement seekers and the poor people who
read my stuff out of desperation. I don’t care
why you read it, I say, Why not?
My Poor Ol’ Lady
Some of you heard that my ol’ lady fell
while roller skating and broke her wrist. She
fell hard on her tailbone. For once I’m not
the cause of the pain in her rear end. Following
surgery, she is gradually recovering.
