Obituaries
George (Jock) C. Burleigh Jr.
July 25, 1944 to July 4, 2020
Jock was a caring, devoted
husband, stepfather and grandpa.
He leaves behind his beloved
wife Terri, her son Michael
Roddy and her daughter Kelly
and husband Dave Ramirez,
and their two children Trevor
and Camille Ramirez. Born in
South Carolina, he grew up in
Kensington Connecticut. After
graduating from the University
of Hartford, Conn, he joined
The United States Air Force and later lived
in Houston, Texas where he worked for the
Houston Chronicle.
Jock and his wife Terri met in Los Angeles.
They married in 1987 and made their home
in El Segundo, CA. Jock enjoyed
bowling, and guiding tours at the
La Brea Museum for many years.
He was a Yankee fan all his life,
since his childhood, and groomed
his grandson Trevor to become
a Yankee fan too. 20 years later,
they went to a game at Yankee
Stadium together. This was a
home run for both of them. He
was open to discussing politics
and baseball with anyone. He
and Terri loved going to the theatre often.
They enjoyed a busy life together traveling
widely, and being around their grandchildren,
family and friends. He will be missed by all
who knew him. •

from the 100 block of Hornet Way. Unknown
suspect(s) stole two batteries from a vehicle.
A found property report was taken at 1300
hours from Grand Avenue and Lomita Street.
A credit card was found.
A burglary report was taken at 1420 hours
from the 900 block of East Imperial Avenue.
Unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s property
from his opened garage
A found property report was taken at 1545
hours from the 400 block of Indiana Street. A
phone and credit cards were found.
A found property report was taken at 1500
hours from the 1200 block of East Acacia
Avenue. There were several CD’s and books
that were found
An identity theft report was taken at 1656
hours from the 200 block of Virginia Street.
Unknown suspect(s) used the victim’s credit
card information to make a fraudulent purchase.
A burglary (residential) report was taken
at 1724 hours from the 800 block of Virginia
Street. Unknown suspect(s) stole property from
the victim’s carport.
An online petty theft report was taken at
0428 hours from the 700 block of Maryland
Street. The suspect walked up to the victim’s
front porch and stole a package.
An online petty theft report was taken
at 0429 hours from the 200 block of East
Sycamore Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) stole
two packages from the victim’s front porch.
Tuesday, June 30th
An identity theft report was taken at 0946
hours from the 300 block of Main Street.
Unknown suspect(s) hacked into the victim’s
work e-mail address.
A found property report was taken at 1325
hours from the 500 block of West Grand Avenue.
Found was a black backpack.
A found property report was taken at 1400
hours from the 700 block of South Pacific Coast
Highway. Found was a brown Coach wallet
containing US currency and cards.
One male adult was arrested at 0334 hours
from the 500 block of Illinois Street for identity
theft, burglary, receiving stolen property and
possession of burglary tools.
Wednesday, July 1st
A felony domestic battery and criminal
threats report was taken at 0954 hours from
the 100 block of Continental Boulevard.
A vehicle was reported stolen at 1453 hours
from the 800 block of North Douglas Street.
Taken was a 2013 Dodge Ram.
A burglary (vehicle) report was taken at
1423 hours from Franklin Avenue and Standard
Street.
One female adult was arrested at 1506
hours from the 500 block of North Pacific
Coast Highway for shoplifting, possession of
drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended
driver license, and one outstanding SBSD
felony warrant.
A grand theft report was taken at 1600 hours
from the 500 block of East Mariposa Avenue.
One male adult was detained at 2253 hours
in the 500 block of North Pacific Coast Highway
and transported to Harbor UCLA Medical
Center for evaluation and treatment. •
