“You Can Be Anything” was the theme of the day with shopping opportunities,
photo ops and a tour that included a visit to the Mattel Gallery, which has never been
open to the public, and ended with a traditional Tea Party with treats provided by
Mychal’s Learning Place. The gallery can only be described as a glimpse into the world of
Barbie. Barbie and Ken dolls of all shapes, sizes and color, as well as, detailed backdrops
recreated scenarios reflecting everyday life, professions, dreams and fantasies. No
photos were allowed, unfortunately. This event is one of many celebrating Barbie’s
60th Anniversary. •
