EL SEGUNDO HERALD April 30, 2015 Page 15 Purrrfect Companions Springtime is the purr-fect time to bring home a new feline friend. Kitties of every color and size are waiting to meet you. Anastasia is a very sweet, cuddly, playful little girl who enjoys the simple things in life, like wet food, mouse toys, and strings. She was rescued from a shelter after her owner passed away, leaving behind Anastasia and 14 of her playmates. She’s great with dogs, kids, and other kitties. Can you help her find her forever home? Margot is a sweet kitten full of sugar and spice and everything nice.  With her beautiful tuxedo coat and round golden eyes, she is growing into a lovely little kitty. Margot has a sweet disposition and enjoys being on your lap to have her back and shoulders rubbed while she resonates a continuous purr.  She is an active girl who will jump in the air for her favorite toy on a string and enjoys batting the at all. Bosco thinks its fun to whack the dogs on the side as they pass by, so he would be fine with a confident dog who would ignore his silly antics. The best way to describe Bosco is “socially awkward” - we think that makes him just a touch more endearing. Mimi is so very sweet and gets along with all the people and other animals in her foster home.  She has two awesome brothers, “Zachary” and “Rufus” who are good kitties just like her.   As a young teenager (in cat terms that’s about 10 months old), Mimi is super playful, but she  also likes to chill out and cuddle.  Come meet Mimi; she’s hoping she’ll be your purr-fect match. These kitties (and puppy) are available for adoption through Kitten Rescue, one of the largest cat rescue groups in Southern California.  All of our kitties are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, tested for FeLV and FIV, dewormed and current on their vaccinations. For additional information and to see these or our other kittens and cats, please check our website www.kittenrescue.org or email us at mail@kittenrescue.org. Your tax deductible donations for the rescue and care of our cats and kittens can be made through our website or by sending a check payable to Kitten Rescue, 914 Westwood Blvd. #583, Los Angeles, CA 90024. On Saturdays, we have adoptions from noon to 3:30 p.m. in Westchester at 8655 Lincoln Blvd. just south of Manchester Ave. and also in Mar Vista at 3860 Centinela Ave, just south of Venice Boulevard.  Our website lists additional adoption sites and directions to each location. • Figaro ball in her blue “donut” toy.  Margot will lie at your side, and then paw gently at you, so happy to just to be with you. She is submissive with other cats and makes friends easily at her foster home. Margot has excellent litter box manners and loves to use her cardboard scratching post.  Figaro is a very handsome, four-year-old boy. Just look at his subtle, dark gray spots and wild-cat face which may come from Bengal cat genes. Figaro has a lot of energy, and loves to play! He’s also a smart, gentle, nice guy who would love nothing more than to snuggle with you in bed when you wake up, and when you come home! He will always greet you when you get home— ask about your day and tell you all about his. He loves giving hugs, and knows how to do it just like a person, wrapping his paws gently around your neck and rubbing his face against your neck and shoulders. All Figaro wants to do is have someone to love, and someone who will love him back. Bosco is a devilishly handsome boy who is waiting for a special someone! He would do well someone who has experience with kitties and maybe also be male. Bosco came into foster care with a very classic case of “solo and neglected kitten syndrome,” which unfortunately means he did not know the difference between a “nip” and a bite. But with encouragement and patience, he has learned the error of his ways! This sweet boy is very loving, but lacks proper feline social skills so he tends to intimidate other cats who take his in-your-face approach as aggression. He actually does very well with crabby older females who won’t let him get away with anything! He is not afraid of dogs Anastasia Mimi Margot Bosco Landau has found the perfect new family to help him adjust. Happy Tails Handsome Landau was adopted at an area shelter and then returned 4 months later because he didn’t sit on his adopter’s lap at the times she wanted him to accommodate her. However, going back into the system, Landau was re-assigned his original entry date which indicated he had been there for months (not true) thus putting him at the top of the euthanasia list. Kitten Rescue swooped him out of there and waited until the purr-fect match was found for this adorable Maine Coon boy. Landau was initially a little too rough with his new family, not quite sure what this new transition would bring. But with every passing day and his family’s patience, he is settling into his true self, letting go of his built-up anxiety from being shuffled around and having to be around so many different cats.  His family loves him and are so incredible in working with him!  When Landau got excited, he would sometimes stalk and attack them.  But they found just blowing in his face or throwing a toy to distract him, it immediately dissipated his energy, settling him right down into a normal kitty. Each day, Landau continues to unwind more and more.  His family truly loves him to pieces. Congratulations, Landau on your purr-fect match! • Be kind. Save a life. Support animal rescue.
