Emergency Response Team (CERT)
The El Segundo Community Emergency
Response Team (CERT) is looking for
community-minded individuals to help our
first responders mitigate local, large-scale
incidents. CERT educates individuals about
disaster preparedness for hazards that may
impact their area and trains them in basic
disaster response skills, such as fire safety,
light search and rescue, team organization,
and disaster medical operations. Using training
learned in the classroom and during
exercises, CERT volunteers can assist others
in their community following a disaster when
professional responders are not immediately
available to help.
Enroll in the upcoming Academy on May 1
(CERT Academy 1902) at https://www.eventbrite.

Marsala Smothered Burgers
Provided by Campbell Soup Company
Give your burgers a makeover with our savory Marsala skillet sauce.
It’s a super easy way to add great flavor to this all-time favorite sandwich.
• 1 pound ground beef
• 1 large onion, cut in half and sliced (about
1 cup)
• 1 pouch (11 ounces) Campbell’s® Chicken
1. Season the beef as desired. Shape the
beef into 4 (1/2-inch thick) burgers.
2. Cook the burgers in a 10-inch skillet
over medium-high heat until well
browned on both sides. Remove the
burgers from the skillet. Pour off any fat.
3. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the
onion to the skillet and cook for 5
minutes or until tender-crisp, stirring
occasionally.
4. Stir in the sauce and heat to a boil.
Return the burgers to the skillet. Reduce
the heat to low. Cover and cook for 5
minutes or until the burgers are cooked
through. Top the burgers with the
cheese and cook until the cheese is
melted. Place the burgers on the buns.
Top with the onion mixture.•
