Local Resident Completes Twenty- Third Consecutive LA Marathon Jaime Guillermo Anzar. Photo provided by Lisa Lappin. Long time El Segundo resident Jaime Guillermo Aznar has successfully run his twenty-third consecutive Los Angeles Marathon. After moving to El Segundo in the early nineties, Jaime has not let storms or ninety-plus degree weather daunt his will to run. He works as a social worker by day and runs along the beach and through the streets of El Segundo in the evenings. Jaime enjoys the challenge of the event and the positive health benefits that come with years of training. He loves the sense of community that comes with the annual marathon day. People come out of their homes offering food, water, support, and kindness. He also enjoys the exhilaration of running freely through the streets of Los Angeles. It is a once a year chance to see the city from a new perspective without the busy traffic. Jaime recommends that anyone wishing to run the 2016 LA Marathon should begin training a year in advance to have an optimum experience. After the trip, the student delegates INTERIOR • EXTERIOR PLUS will deliver a presentation on their experience for the PTA. Because she did not have her cellular phone with her, she was unable to contact the local police. Once Wood returned home, she called the El Segundo Police Department to report what she had found. An El Segundo Police Officer took custody of the ring and brought it to the Jewelry Source in El Segundo. The jeweler found a serial number inscribed inside the diamond and conducted a search of databases to locate the original seller. From that information, detectives were able to contact the owner and return the property to a very happy couple.
