Notice of Public Hearing
The CITY COUNCIL will hold a public hearing on:
Zone Text Amendment to implement State Senate Bill No. 9, which allows
subdivisions and construction of multiple units in the R1 Zone
Address: Single Family Residential (R1) Zones in El Segundo
Project Description: (Environmental Assessment No. EA-1317 and Zone Text Amendment No. ZTA 22-01) Amend
Chapter 15-4A (Single-Family Residential Zone) of the El Segundo Municipal Code to add a new section that allows
subdivisions and allows construction of multiple units in the Single Family Residential Zone, and creates objective
standards to implement the requirements of Senate Bill No. 9. An amendment to Title 14 (Subdivision Regulations) is
also proposed to include subdivision standards for General Urban Lot Splits.
The proposed zone text amendment to title 15 was initially reviewed by the Planning Commission on January 13, 2022,
at which time the Planning Commission adopted a resolution recommending that the City Council approve the proposed
zone text amendment. The City Council is the final decision-making body.
Applicant: City of El Segundo
Date, Time, and Location of the Public Hearing:
Tuesday, February 1, 2022, 6:00 pm
City Council Chamber
350 Main Street
El Segundo, CA 90245

provides that such ordinances are not considered a “project” under CEQA.
