Page 6 December 6, 2012 TORRANCE TRIBUNE Two Torrance Teams Finish as CIF Divisional Runner-up By Kelly Kemp Although both North and West Torrance had memorable football seasons, each was overwhelmed last weekend by opponents more hungry to win CIF. Don’t get me wrong – each team was trying hard to succeed, but it was just not to be. The North Torrance Saxons finished their season 11-3, losing to Nordhoff 31-14, and the West Torrance Warriors finished at 10-4, losing to Palos Verdes 35-14. Rainy weather was a factor – with countless passes missing their mark, and games marred by fumbles and interceptions. Disappointment, I’m sorry to say, for the Torrance hopefuls, but excitement and an early Christmas present for their opponents. Happy Holidays and best wishes for 2013! Photos by Shelley Kemp.
