Visit us online: www.heraldpublications.com Up and Adam from page 3 at North High, the Saxons were matched up with Peninsula. Despite keeping the game close early on, North eventually gave up too many points late and fell victim to an 86-72 loss in a non-league contest. A back-and-forth game saw the score tied at 41-41 heading into halftime. The Saxons were able to keep things close throughout the third quarter as well, but a huge fourth is what ultimately propelled Peninsula to victory. Shea Eddington did his best to keep his team in the thick of things, providing 14 points to lead the Saxons. An 11-2 run put North behind the eight ball late in third before being outscored by eight points in the fourth quarter. Despite the loss, the Saxons enjoyed a good all-around performance offensively. Yusei Shigeta and Kyle Baba had nine points apiece and Keith Turner and Alex Ezeani each turned in eight. The Saxons will head into the Leon Davis Classic Tournament before beginning league play in early January. South High The South High Spartans are still on a quest to get their basketball season back on track, but it didn’t happen last week against Los Altos in the Titan Pride Classic. While the Spartans could barely muster a win one season ago, they have already racked up three in this early basketball year. Los Altos, however, put it on head coach Leo Klemm and company pretty dreadfully. Sixty-three first half points led to a high-scoring affair for Los Altos, which wound up beating the Spartans 100-50 last Monday night in tournament play. The loss is a minor setback for South, which is a team that has already out-produced its output from a year ago. The Spartans will look to continue to produce victories as they host Culver City and La Quinta before league play begins. West High The West High Warriors seem to be the team that will be battling it out with the North High Saxons all year long for an upper seed in the Pioneer League standings this season. West has won the first three games of the year and has enjoyed continued success in this year’s Titan Pride Classic tournament. The Warriors beat the Bravo Knights from Los Angeles last Monday night by a final score of 73-11. West then went on to defeat the Mark Keppel Aztecs from Alhambra, 70-46. West’s high-octane offense has been on display all season long and will be back before league play begins as part of the Mt. Carmel Holiday Hoops Classic. – Asxilion@earthlink.net • PUBLIC NOTICES PUBLISH YOUR PUBLIC NOTICES HERE ABANDONMENTS: $125.00 ABC NOTICES: $125.00 DBA (Fictitious Business Name): $75.00 NAME CHANGE: $125.00 Other type of notice?
