Like the game played previously, the Saxons only mustered one run against Torrance’s pitching and it also came late in the sixth inning of a 3-1 loss. The Saxons (13-10, 3-3) will look to turn things around and salvage a playoff spot when they take on the South High Spartans in the final two games of the regular season. Torrance (21-8, 6-0), on the other hand, will truly be challenged as it takes on the Pioneer League’s second place West High Warriors--the last team to beat the Tartars in league play. West High The West High Warriors received a bit of a break in Pioneer League play when they were scheduled two games against the Leuzinger Olympians last week. The Olympians have forfeited their last eight games of the season- -all in Pioneer League play—including the two against the Warriors that gave West two more prized possessions in the win column of the season-long standings. After losing back-to-back games to the West High Warriors two weeks ago, the South High Spartans moved on to participate in the Chatsworth Tournament where the team took a 12-2 loss to the Kennedy Cougars. Junior Javin Fish was one for three with an RBI and freshman Cade Bargar was one for two with a double and two runs scored. A platoon of six pitchers gave up a total of six walks, eight hits, and 12 runs (eight earned) over seven innings.
