West held the lead after the first quarter of play and trailed by only one point after the third quarter, but 20 points by Leuzinger in the fourth overshadowed a 16 point, 12 rebound, 5 assist game by Christian Jackson to send the Warriors to a 48-40 loss. West (7-15, 4-4) will be upset minded this week as they take on another rival at home versus the North High Saxons. North High After a terrific start to the season, the North High Saxons have fallen victim to a difficult league-play schedule this season. With losses to both Torrance and Leuzinger two weeks ago, the Saxons started their week off last week with a tough loss at South High. The Saxons trailed in the game by only one point after the third quarter, but gave up 20 points in the fourth to South High to eventually lose by a final score of 65-59. Ajeya Kukreja led all scorers in the game with 21 points for South. Their loss to the Spartans put North’s losing streak at three games and dealt the team a devastating blow in their chase for the Pioneer League title, but the Saxons (10-11, 3-3) were finally able to get back on track against Centennial in their next game last Friday night and with a 63-58 victory, put a win up on the board. City Approves License Agreement with Honeywell A licensing agreement between the city and Honeywell International, Inc. was approved for seven groundwater-monitoring wells. Due to the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board’s direction, Honeywell as the owner of the property located on 2525 West 190th St., is required to install seven groundwater monitoring wells. The wells are expected to determine the “extent of volatile organic compound mitigation from the site.” The monitoring wells will be located in the public-right of way and will be installed in Wilton Place, Spinning Avenue, 185th, 186th and 187th Streets.
