The grant was endowed by Chevron for the purpose of enriching Environmental Charter School’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education programs. Environmental Charter Schools and Chevron announce their continuing partnership as Chevron awards $60,000 in grant funding to support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs which are integrated into the ECS curriculum at the schools’ 6-12 grade levels, as well as through a rich variety of after-school programs. Environmental Charter Schools’ Executive Director, Alison Diaz, shares the tremendous impact that the Chevron grant will have on ECS programs, saying, “Chevron’s commitment to and investment in STEM education is unrivaled. Over the years, Chevron has helped ECS to deliver high quality STEM instructional materials to ensure that our students graduate as critical thinkers and creative problem solvers.” The Chevron grant will specifically support STEM achievement and access to technology. At Environmental Charter Schools, STEM programming is delivered through a variety of programs including the MESA (Math, Engineering, and Science Achievement) Program, the Solar Boat program, the Sustain-a-Store, the Bike Shop and the Green Ambassadors program. ECS has also launched a new STEM Tiny Homes (sustainable living) after-school program, in which students learn computer-aided design technology, programing skills, and architectural and engineering techniques. “Chevron has long made K-12 STEM education a priority because STEM programs are essential to prepare our students to become leaders, productive members of the workforce, and professionals in our global economy,” says Lily Craig, Chevron’s External Affairs Manager. “We are proud that our programs support local youth so that they can contribute to society and develop fruitful careers and enriched lives.” • PUBLIC NOTICES NOTICE OF PETITION TO ADMINISTER ESTATE OF: SHIRLEY ANN WEBB FRETWELL CASE NO.
