Page 8 February 9, 2017 Wowser Schnauzers Buttercup Bo Lots of love and happiness to Corky! Happy Tails program called “Grooming Gives Hope” and I now am very hopeful that I’ll find a home! I’ve been told that I’m 10 pounds of love and affection that gets along well with other dogs, but I’m super-friendly with everyone.” If you’re interested in Buttercup, please email info@msfr.org for more information. “Hi, my name is Michelle but my friends call me Shelly. I’m a two-year old, female purebred Miniature Schnauzer who is just as cute as can be. I went to visit a friend and lost my way, so I ended up at an LA county shelter as a stray. Since I’m a petite little Shelly We are looking for volunteers to help with our pet adoption fairs, which are held every Saturday at the Petco located at 537 N. Pacific Coast Highway Redondo Beach 90277 from noon-3: 30 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering and can commit to at least one Saturday a month, please contact us at info@msfr.org. You can also visit all of our Miniature Schnauzers & Friends rescues at the adoption fair or check out our website at www.msfr.org. If you have any questions about a particular dog’s availability, you can email us at info@msfr.org. Schnauzers! Bet you can’t adopt just one! “Are you looking for a tiny companion with a sweet personality? If so, I’m definitely your gal. My name is Buttercup–isn’t that just too cute? I’m a four-year old, female Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle). To be perfectly honest, I’m probably more Poodle than Schnauzer but have all of the “cuteness qualities” that make Schnauzers irresistible. I don’t exactly know how I ended up at an LA county shelter, but I suspect that the reason no wanted to adopt me is because I was quite a mess. Aside from being dirty I have flea allergies, so some of my fur was missing. Not very attractive to the public even if you have been spayed and microchipped. It’s too bad my previous owners never registered my chip since the shelter kept me longer than usual in hopes that my owners would show up, but no such luck. Once I was groomed, this adorably cute as a bug little girl emerged. The shelter has a lady, only weighing 14 pounds, I learned to quickly make friends with everyone I could at the shelter – especially the big dogs. I’m outgoing and friendly with people and I get along great with other dogs. I guess you could just say I love everyone! I’d be a great addition to a family or an even better companion for someone who lives alone and needs a pal. Think of all the adventures and fun we could have together. Please stop by and see what a “catch” I am.” If you’re interested in Shelly, please email info@msfr.org for more information. Congratulations to Corky and her new family. Corky is our Downey rescue from late July who is one of our special needs dogs. She has dry eye, requiring drops twice a day, and requires prescription dog food to avoid a reoccurrence of bladder stones. That didn’t deter her new family, who happens to be a previous MSFR adopter, from falling under her spell and wanting to adopt her. Corky is now living and loving in Laguna Niguel. Wishing you lots of happiness and love. • “They call me Bo and some folks think that I’m a Portuguese Water Dog mix. I can’t say for sure what I am, but I can say that I am a one-year old male who weighs 28 pounds. I somehow got separated from my family and ended up at an LA county shelter as a stray. When I arrived at the shelter and folks saw that I came equipped with webbed feet, they decided I was a Portuguese Water Dog and suddenly lots of people were interested in adopting me. Despite multiple folks who said they wanted me, no one ever showed to take me home with them. The MSFR folks decided to rescue me and even though I look like a Portuguese Water Dog, since it’s such a rare breed, I’m most likely a Poodle/ Terrier mix. I do have a great personality, I get along well with other dogs and I’m a pretty friendly guy. If you would like to see for yourself what a wonderful dog I am, please come to adoptions and ask for me. I’ll be looking for you!” If you’re interested in Bo, please email info@msfr.org for more information. • Be kind. Save a life. Support animal rescue.
