Page 8 January 7, 2016 Purrrfect Companions Rahmah Tulia. Start the New Year out and celebrate by making a purr-fect match when you adopt a new feline friend. Rahmah is incredibly cuddly and sweet, loving to just lounge around in your arms and be held.  He loves to play with toys as well and is a master at re-finding them when they escape.  Just get him a toy with some sound to it and Rahmah is all over it.  He loves to play with other kitties on his terms, and especially snuggle with them! Since Rahmah has an underdeveloped eye and is 90% blind in his other eye, he definitely needs a forever buddy to be his “seeing eye cat” or really, just double as a pillow for him.  Being blind, Rahmah needs a home where things are relatively consistent and tidy.  Once he knows the layout, he can get around like every other cat, but reducing the obstacles is very helpful for him.  He has no issue finding the litter box, or his food, or anything else - after all, cats have a marvelous sense of smell!  He doesn’t need any special treatment or care, just don’t drop things in his path or constantly rearrange the furniture on him. Rahmah, like any other cat, is just looking for the “purrfect” place in a loving home. Speckled with Tortoiseshell colors and boasting proud tabby stripping, Elektra is a visual bouquet of color and fun! She is super soft and loves to be petted, dancing around your feet chirping for attention and pets.  Elektra is lithe, her streamline form perfect for zipping around. Elektra loves other kittens, and once she adjusts to them, she is fine with other adults as well.  She is definitely an alpha female, claiming her right to rule from the word go, so she would do best with another kitty who will let her be the queen bee.  Elektra out a wand toy and he will play all over your lap trying to get it.  Couch time is his favorite, he turns into a total snuggle bug and always wants to be touching some part of you.  He loves his buddy Elektra, but can be adopted to a home with any kitty.  Merlin can also be adopted as a single to someone who is home a lot, so he doesn’t get lonely.   Ariel was separated from her mother when she was only 3 weeks old.  She’s always been rather petite and a little bit shy. A family who will give Ariel a chance to feel comfy with her surroundings will help her to blossom.  Once Ariel has settled in, she loves chasing a laser light; she’s confident that one of these days she’s going to catch it!  Little Ariel is very affectionate and loves snuggling and purring.  With her very expressive eyes, she’ll let you see into her soul.  There is a big dog at Ariel’s foster home that she mostly ignores and he does the same with her.  Ariel is totally ready for her forever home.  She promises to show you and your family unconditional love while purring her little heart out. Tulia is the Miss Congeniality of her household. She loves to make eye contact with you, really wants to communicate, and will usually begin to peep out little greetings when she does.  She also does fabulous “floomps” – she’ll just drop from a standing position to a lying-down position very dramatically, in a way that should have a sound effect – and we imagine “floomp” would be the sound.  Usually when she does this, if you’re not close enough to reach out and pet her, she’ll then slither toward you on her side, purring and purring. Tulia also seems to have a sense of gentleness and empathy when it’s called for.  One of elderly kitties in her foster home is 16 year-old boy who has a lot of health challenges; he loves kittens for snuggling.  Unlike some of the other youngsters in the household, Tullia seems to sense this, and is very gentle to this sweet old guy, and snuggles up next to him without annoying him.  She even will try to give him little baths sometimes, and he returns the favor to her. Tullia is very social, so she needs to be adopted either along with another kitten (ideally a sibling, although that is certainly not a requirement) or to a home where there is already another animal (kitten, adult cat,  or cat-loving puppy or adult dog) that would be her full-time playmate.  It would be especially cool to see her adopted with her little twin brother, Festus.  These cats and kittens are available for adoption through Kitten Rescue, one of the largest cat rescue groups in Southern California.  All of our kitties are spayed/ neutered, micro-chipped, tested for FeLV and FIV, dewormed and current on their vaccinations. For additional information and to see our other kitties, please check our website www.kittenrescue.org or email us at mail@kittenrescue.org. Your tax deductible donations for the rescue and care of our cats and kittens can be made through our website or by sending a check payable to Kitten Rescue, 914 Westwood Blvd. #583, Los Angeles, CA 90024. On Saturdays, we have adoptions from noon to 3:30 p.m. in Westchester at 8655 Lincoln Blvd. just south of Manchester Ave. and also in Mar Vista at 3860 Centinela Ave, just south of Venice Boulevard.  Our website lists additional adoption sites and directions to each location. Saving one animal won’t change the world, but the world will surely change for that animal.• is also independent and happy to entertain herself.  She would do best in a home where either her person is around a lot or with a kitty buddy to hang out with.  She loves her buddy Merlin and would adore getting a home with him. Merlin is absolutely adorable with his eye liner and tabby patches. Pin him down with some pets and he turns on the charm, purring away and even asking for belly rubs!  He loves to kiss your fingers when getting pets too! Merlin would do best in a calmer environment, away from loud sudden noises that might remind him of those terrifying days of fireworks when he was found after the Fourth of July. He would do best in  a home with adults or mature children as sudden noises and movements are still a bit scary for this sweet boy. He loves other cats to pieces and takes comfort from their presence. Get Ariel Elektra Merlin
