Page 8 November 14, 2013 Wowzer Schnauzer My name is Addison, and it’s uncertain why my previous owner turned me in to an L.A. County shelter, because I’m absolutely Addison adorable! Everyone tells me that I’m a cute, quiet and reserved little lady. I look forward to spending social time with other dogs – we get along great. At 11 pounds, I’m considered petite – just a bit of a girl, really. I will fit comfortably on your lap Gretchen or in your arms when we cuddle. Really, what more could anyone ask for? I can’t wait to meet you at adoptions – we will be the perfect match! Hello, I’m an 8-year-old purebred female Miniature Schnauzer named Gretchen. My life was turned topsy-turvy when my elderly owner passed away about a year ago. A family member took me in for a year but couldn’t keep me, so they took me to an inland shelter. When the nice people from MSFR met me, I really needed some TLC – my nails were so long they curled. I needed dental, a physical and a grooming. I had to have two teeth extracted, but my blood work came back normal and I’ve been transformed with my makeover. I would like to lose a few pounds, my current weight being 24 pounds, however, I’m a happy, well-socialized lady who enjoys the company of both dogs and people. I have many years of love to give and would be a great companion if you’ll just give me a chance. I know that Waffles is a strange name for a 5-year-old male purebred Miniature Schnauzer, but there’s a funny story about how that came to be. I was rescued from an L.A. County shelter, where I had been brought in as a stray. First, I was listed as a male. Then my listing changed to a female. When the volunteers from MSFR come to pick me up, they found that, indeed I was a male, and I wasn’t neutered. Hence, due to my “waffling” gender, the name “Waffles” became mine. Please come visit me at our pet adoptions and see what a honey of a dog I am. If you’re looking for a 1-year-old male Chihuahua/Dachshund mix named Mozart look no further. I was rescued from a highkill shelter in the nick of time, and I have to admit, it was pretty scary. I may not be able to read a note or compose a song, but I am one bouncy, happy little guy who loves to play with dogs and people. I can’t play the piano, but I can give you lots of love, and I’m very entertaining. If you want to meet 10 pounds of joy, come see me at Yellow Brick Road Doggie Playcare in El Segundo. Marge was rescued from an L.A. shelter in mid-August and now has a 7-yearold male min. and her daughter as playmates. Marge’s new forever mom is retired and is home all day, which works out perfectly for Marge, who has had some separation issues. Much happiness to all of you.
