This is another chance for us to display our patriotism. We need more American flags flying here in Hawthorne. If you have one stored away in the closet, try to find it and fly it proudly on June 14 and July 4. There was a great display on Ramona Avenue between 138th and 140th when eleven flags were flying on Memorial Day. Does any other block in Hawthorne have more flags flying? In Memory of a Friend of Hawthorne Beverly Robinson, a longtime member of our Hollyglen community, passed away on May 10. Beverly was active in the community, volunteering her time for the Little League, Hollyglen Homeowners Association and Friends of the Library, was a regular attendee at the Hawthorne City Council and Planning Commission meetings, and attended many community events. She always had a smile and something nice to say. She will be dearly missed. There was a large crowd of people who attended Beverly’s memorial service last Saturday over in Westchester. You tell that she had touched the hearts of many people. Contact Info Norbhuber@gmail.com. (Thanks for reading my column.
