It is changing everything. Whether or not you have a “smart phone”, an IPad, or an Instagram account, technology affects how we do things. This is especially true when we travel. From booking our tickets online, to selecting our seats on an airplane, to showing the gate attendant our e-tickets, these advancements do make traveling easier. In the past I have always been afraid of losing my airplane ticket before I made it to the gate. Now, as long as I have my smart phone I don’t have to worry. Since my wife and I are not souvenir people, we tend to take photos to save memories of our traveling adventures. In the past five years, our picture taking has gone from waiting for one week, to one day, to one hour for our film to be developed at Costco. Now there is no wait. There is no need to carry a separate camera any longer now that phones do the job just as well. We can take digital photos and instantly send them out to all of our family members and Facebook friends to make them envious of our excursions. The only thing we have to worry about now is keeping our phones charged. Without a smart phone I may have to actually talk with my wife and stay with her on our outings rather than text her.
