Page 8 January 9, 2014 Pets Without Partners Purrrfect Companions Ruckis Max was adopted out as a kitten in 1999, but then returned to Kitten Rescue seven years later when his adopter’s life changed and she could no longer take care of him. When Max arrived at the Kitten Rescue Sanctuary, he was scared of the other cats and wary of humans. He reacted aggressively, which made him difficult to adopt. With the love and patience of the Kitten Rescue staff and volunteers, Max learned to trust again and became a sanctuary favorite. Now, after living at the sanctuary for seven years, Max finally found his forever home.  Max is an example of the loving care that Kitten Rescue provides for every animal. We never stop searching for a home on their behalf. It is our hope to find every animal their own home, but those who are not adopted are always welcome to stay with us and we will provide lifetime care for them. Please don’t overlook pets who are waiting for another chance at love with a home Each year, Kitten Rescue saves and re-homes around 1,000 cats and dogs from the streets and city shelters. Many are in desperate need of medical attention, proper nutrition and Tristan love. Before our animals are adopted into their new homes, they are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, microchipped, tested for FeLV/FIV (cats only) and are given a clean bill of health. We would like to thank our donors, adopters and volunteers for your support on behalf of the homeless animals of Los Angeles. Help Kitten Rescue continue our work in 2014 and join us in our mission to make Los Angeles a No Kill City. Brennen is a purr monster who loves people more than anything in the world. He is a total sweetheart, always grooming you when he isn’t bouncing around playing. This precious little kitten is extra special because he is mostly blind. Brennen requires no special care beyond having a stable environment where the furniture doesn’t move frequently and the floor is fairly uncluttered.  Brennen can see vague shapes and can differentiate between light and dark. Brennen is completely undaunted by his vision limitations, taking everything in stride and being all the more outgoing and confident perhaps because of it. He walks right up to dogs and will pounce on strange cats without care. Brennen loves big toys, especially noisy ones, as they are easier for him to chase after. He has a raspy meow and likes to tell you about his day, as well as call out in a strange game of Marco Polo when he loses track of where you are. Tristan is the world’s most personable kitty. He is a handsome two-year-old boy who is harness and leash-trained. Very easygoing, Tristan loves belly rubs and can’t get enough petting. He is a good traveler, hanging out in his carrier without a fuss for however long the drive is. With his loud purr and adorable soft, green eyes, Tristan would be perfectly happy as a single cat or in a home with another kitty. He is good with dogs once he gets to know them, other cats, and gentle children. These kittens/cats are available for adoption through Kitten Rescue, one of the largest cat rescue groups in Southern California. All of our kitties are spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested for FeLV and FIV, de-wormed and current on their vaccinations. For additional information and to see our other kitties, please check our website at www.kittenrescue.org, or email us at mail@kittenrescue.org. Your tax-deductible donations for the rescue and care of our cats and kittens can be made through our website or by sending a check payable to Kitten Rescue, 914 Westwood Boulevard, #583, Los Angeles, CA 90024. Support animal rescue. • Welcome in the New Year with a new friend when you adopt a “pet without a partner.” If you currently have a pet without a microchip, please make it your New Year’s resolution to have them “chipped. Please contact us regarding low cost microchipping information. What’s all the ruckus about? It’s about Ruckis! This is a fabulous pup who is happy all the time. He loves everyone he meets and has great play manners with all other dogs. Rukis is such a sweet boy and his age is estimated to be 10-12 months old. He is full grown and with his little short, squatty body and cute face, he appears to be a French Bulldog/English Bulldog/Staffordshire Terrier mix. Rukis is neutered, current on vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, fine with other dogs, and great with kids. Riley is a great little guy with personality plus! He is approximately seven to eight years old and very small at five pounds. He loves his little doggie beds and loves to burrow under towels, blankets or whatever is laying around for him to curl up in for warmth. He is as sweet as pie and a love of a little guy. Although he only has a few teeth, Riley has no problems eating whatsoever. He would like nothing more than to be your constant companion, purse or lap dog. Riley is very animated during playtime and is just darling, to say the least. Riley is neutered, current on vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, and good with other dogs. Children should be 10 and over due to Riley’s small size and for his safety. Sheba is a beautiful, white German Shepherd possibly mixed with Husky--just a guess on our part. She came to us as a stray and sadly was not microchipped, so her owners were never located. She is a medium0sized dog, standing right around knee-high. Sheba weighs 50 pounds and is estimated to be right around a year old. She is very loving and friendly and loves to lick you to give kisses. Sheba will be spayed, is current on vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, and fine with other dogs. To learn more about these and other wonderful dogs, visit our website at www. animalsrule.org. If a dog is on our website, it’s available. Or come to our Saturday adoption events from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 305 North Harbor Boulevard in San Pedro (just off the 110 near the cruise port). We are always in need of donations for veterinarian bills and our senior dogs. Donations can be made through our website or by sending a check payable to: Animals Rule Placement Foundation at 305 North Harbor Blvd., San Pedro, CA  90731. All donations are tax-deductible. We are a registered 501©3 non-profit organization. Saving one animal won’t change the world, but the world will surely change for that animal. • Riley Happy Tails Brennen Sheba and family of their own.
